So here he was, his shields worn, the cloak he wore when traveling at times laid on the sand like a blanket, his tortoise walking along the water's edge, and his mini deku baba sitting in her little pot next to him. The day was nice, quiet, relaxing. To his left sat a few rocks that rose up too a small cliff, and to his right were some trees, thick enough to hide any approaching figures until about 10 feet in.
Why was he sitting at The Edge like this, looking out at the sea, his gear still on? Because he heard rumors that people seemed to like crowding around waterfronts. If no one came, then at least he could relax for a little while, but if someone did come, then he could talk with them. It had been a bit since he had became a Human Warden, but no one knew him still.
In fact, more often then not, people either ignored him or called him a fake. The few times he showed off his power, told them of his position, they were hard pressed to believe, the impostors ruining his name. If he was the Human Champion... then... then people would know him.
Meeting with other leaders, traveling to their homes in hope of strengthening bonds between the races, protecting them all from villains who threatened the peace of the world.
He wanted to be a Hero of the People, like those in the stories he had read told. Jin just wanted to become someone great, someone known, someone wanted. But right now, he had to work to earn that.
Also... it was a little too quiet here.

{OOC: DBZ Referenced Title? Not Until The Fish Jumps} I'd not been to the Edge before, but this place seems to be a great place to just sit back and relax after liberating money from a sea dog and returning it to a nearby port city's people. I decide to make use of Dirge to make myself a meal when I land, but as I move into the forest to get some firewood, I see a man sitting on the cliff nearby. I fold my wings into my back as I walk over to him to introduce myself. Greetings~! I'm Caramon Zero. It's good to see someone else here besides myself.
I was just about to cook up a meal, and I have far too many ingredients for just myself to eat. Would you care to join me for a free meal?

As the strange figure walked over to him, Jin sat there, looking at him without his face changing all that much. The sand beneath his cloak was nice and soft, and unlike the rocks of the cliff to his left, was almost inviting. He nodded his head as the man introduced himself, and then looked back out over the water. Was he hungry at the moment? Not really. He wouldn't just be rude though.
"Sorry, I myself had a meal before coming here. I am Jin Reno, and though I thank you for offering in sharing your food with me, I really am not all too hungry right now." He said, motioning to the sand next to him. "If you wish though, you are more then welcome to share this beach with me and cook your food here. Company is always welcomed." Jin continued, looking out across the sea, the waves still several feet from where the bottom of his cloak lay in the sand.
At the appearance of the stranger, Lisa made her way up the beach and next to Jin, as if the tortoise was trying to hide herself from whatever the male was. "I have to say, I can't rightly tell what you are. Your appearance seems to be more human then oocca, but there is something else.... something off." Jin added, picking up the small tortoise in his hands and stroking its shell. OOC: You got it. You get no points and only a one handed clap from me lol. Why don't you ever talk in 3rd person? Your first person is really, well, kind of annoying.

{OOC: I'm sorry, but no matter how hard I try, I can't get in touch with my character if I use 3rd person. I know my 1st person can be/is annoying, but I try to see things the way my character would, no matter how annoying he may be sometimes...}
If it's fine with you for me to be here, I suppose that I might as well get some fish while I'm here at the water...
I walk a ways into the water and position my left hand not too far from its surface. As a fish passes by, I extend Dirge's blade and raise it out of the water with the motionless fish skewered on it. I do this until I can no longer hold any more fish in my right hand.
I set the fish on the beach and place some stones from the shore in a ring before putting the wood from the forest in it.
I use Dirge once again to not only light the fire with the sparks it creates, but also to cut up the fish I'd caught. I set Imperium on some larger stones over the flames to cook the fish on its blade as if it were a grill.
Well, it seems to me that you've not seen one such as myself before. I'm a more mixed variety than most Hybrids, since I'm not what's referred to as a "Direct Hybrid" like my parents were.
My Dad was a Human/Goron, and my Mom was a Hylian/Oocca, but for some reason my blood mixed differently than any of the other Hybrids I knew, allowing me to take on the features of all four sides of my family. This crimson stone chest, these reinforced wings, this Human appearance, and these pointy ears are all signs of my heritage.
It isn't just you that's said that, but you're one of the few who've said it that... reasonably. Most just point out my being a Hybrid, and then try to avoid even trying to get to know me, so it's good to know that there're some people who can point out my being different the way you just did. Most people call me a monster, but do I really seem that monstrous to you?
I laugh and return to my cooking by removing the fish and setting them in a tray with some of the ingredients I'd brought with me, mixing them together and adding some sea water to the tray before I put it onto the fire.
I know this seems to be an odd dish, but I've been wanting to try this recipe for some time, and I'm fairly glad I'm the only one who has to be the guinea pig this time. I hope you can forgive me if it starts to give off a weird smell, since I'm unsure what scent this dish will produce, but I hope that this turns out like most of my other dishes, and is actually pretty tasty.
I suppose I hadn't told you yet, but despite my appearance, I'm actually a traveling chef who gets all his money based on the costs of the ingredients, and doesn't charge for labor.
I believe it's rather amusing when people say that I'm "too good for my own good", since I believe that no matter what you do, there's no way you can be "too good". But there is a limit to how much good that people can stand, and some people will actually drive you off for trying to help, just because of what you are. What a sad world we live in, eh Jin?

"A simple 'I am part goron, human, hylian, and oocca' would have been just fine... not your life story... I mean seriously... you just met me and already you told me your life story." Jin said, rubbing his ear a bit as he looked at Caramon, trying to figure out why he just spilled so much of his own story too a complete stranger.
"As for if you seem monsterious... only if I had to take notes on what you just said." He added, shaking his head and watching the confusion of a being start to create some sort of food dish. "You added a bit too much sea water." Jin said softly, before looking back out to sea. He was a cook himself, and though he didn't make money from it, he still knew what he was doing and how things would turn out.
Jin wasn't up for telling a complete stranger his life story though. That was something he couldn't really get behind. "Well, lying to me won't really help, because I am pretty sure you are more then just a cook, since your frame obviously denotes that you have training in something." Jin said, motioning to the other. "To lean and built, plus the way you hold yourself isn't the same as all the cooks I've met."

I laugh at Jin's response to what I'd said and smile.
You may have a point, but I'm a trusting person, and I prefer to allow those kind enough to actually speak to me to know a bit about myself, though I do believe it best to not force them to do the same.
No, you don't have to take notes, and yes, I think I did too, but it's too late to start over now. Oh well, I wanted a salty dish anyway...
I let the dish boil for a time before taking it off the fire and pouring it into one of the bowls I brought along with me before having a taste and turning back to Jin.
Who's lying? One of my jobs is being a traveling chef, which is the one I actually make a profit on.
The other is being the Captain of the Lucky XIII, a ship of people who put their lives on the line to help others get back what's rightfully theirs.
The only amounts we keep are what we charged to get what was stolen back before we send most of our profits home and divide the smallest remaining portion between the crew. You'd think with me being the Captain I'd take the largest cut, but, truthfully, I don't take one green rupee, and prefer to earn my own money the way I want to without having to take anything from my Family.
I may be fairly open to tell you about myself, but I just see myself as a man trying to help others while still protecting his Family.
But no matter how you slice it, most that don't know me would say I'm a bad guy who steals from hard working people, but those that do would say I'm too good for my own good for giving most of it away. I have quite a lot on my plate, wouldn't you say?
I begin eating my meal slowly as I think of what I could do to make this dish better while still having its unique flavor.
Well, a bit less salt water for one... And maybe a few more herbs and spices could help...

"You really are talking a lot. In fact, with all that you are saying it seemed like you are more of someone who rambles on and on without letting anyone say anything." Jin said, looking at Caramon with a dull look.
Jin blinked his eyes and shook his head a bit before looking back out over the ocean, trying not to be rude to him. "So you are a Peace Main then? Someone who pirates, but doesn't go around killing or robbing... for the most part, just more for adventure?"
He blinked for a moment before speaking, "No, you are a little more like a pirate then a Peace Main... you don't even say that you do this for the adventure." Jin shrugged before stroking Lisa's shell gently. "I would consider bringing you in, sending you too jail, but I am not really up for doing anything right now."

I finish my meal, and look back to Jin.
For the most part, I became a Pirate to seek out revenge for my parents' murder, but now I'm a Captain who tries to help people, even if I go about things similar to a Mercenary and charge a small fee for the return of what was stolen.
An old saying I heard when I was younger was: "You can't steal from a Thief, but you can return what he stole." That's just the way I see it. I can't pay my crew with food alone after all, and though I try my best to earn an honest living, they still need a bit of money to spend as well.
I smile and let out a relieved sigh.
I'm grateful for you not turning me in, and I'm sorry for speaking so much, I just talk a lot when I meet new people.
I can't stop wondering about what he mentioned earlier and have to ask about it.
I'm rather curious as to what these Peace Main you speak of are, could you tell me of them?

"A Peace Main is a pirate who set off too sea to both go on adventures, while also fighting other pirates. They are almost like a military crew without any attachments to the military." Jin said, before looking at the sea.
"As it is though, Peace Mains seem to have vanished from most of existence." He added, shrugging for a moment.
Jin got to his feet and stretched out a little bit before he moved over toward the rocks, jumping up them, holding Lisa in his hand. "You are a pirate though, no matter what title you may place on it."

{OOC: I'm sorry man, every time I came on this thread, I had to figure out what I was going to reply, but now I'm just gonna put whatever comes to mind, and I'm sorry if things go overboard....}
Well, yes, I am a Pirate, but even as a Pirate I'm an outcast. I use my position as a Captain and my mercenary fees to cover up my helping people so that I'm able to stay alive to help more people.
You see, when I was young, a group of Humans dressed as Knights came into my village, and starting killing people and burning homes. My parents had sent me out deeper into the forest to escape, but when I came back everyone was either dead or gone, my parents among the former. Filled with rage, I followed the trail of footprints and found their camp, as well as many Hybrids bound in chains to be sold off as slaves.
I slaughtered every single man in that camp without a second thought, and took the Hybrids into a deeper part of the forest where they could build a new life for themselves.
I went back to bury the villagers to find they had already been buried, save my parents. The man who had done this kindness took me in and taught me many things, but when he died, I left my home and went out on a quest for vengeance to kill the man who'd given the order to attack my village.
So if my village hadn't been attacked, I'd pro'ly be a Knight instead of a Pirate, but now I'm like this and I'm not going to change no matter what, because everything that's happened to me thus far has led to make me the man I am today.
I may not be proud of some of the things I choose to do, but I still try to do the right thing.
I smile and take my guitar off of my back and set it next to me.
I'm sorry, do you mind if I lighten the mood with some music?

Jin blinked and looked at the man-thing before turning away, trying to ignore all of the words the man had said. "You know, you have a lot to say, but I really wasn't in the mood to listen to someone give me their life story." Jin said, rubbing his head before jumping up the rocks a bit more.
"You need to know when to keep it quiet. If you plan to keep talking like this, the next time someone won't just let you walk away." He added, leaving the area, not wanting to be bothered. Exit

After Jin leaves, I think back on what he had said and sigh, after which I talk to myself with an irate voice as I rub my eyes with my left hand.
Maybe I'm just not cut out for this kind of thing... I guess I'd better head back home and see what needs doing.
I put away my guitar, adjust my armor, and take to the skies. My destination: Home. My mission: Learn how and when to keep my mouth shut. {EXIT/END?}
