APPEARANCE,
Nairore is good looking. She’s definitely a head turner, even if she doesn’t embrace this. Her face is often an emotionless mask and for all the hoots she may draw from the wrong types of crowds she never blinks twice. Unless one of them oversteps themselves, then she might blink as blood from his broken nose sprays. But that’s purely reflex to keep the stuff out of her eyes. But this happens very often, because the coldness that radiates off of her usually warns others.
So what makes her so good looking? Well there’s the long wavy brown hair, dyed from her natural Gerudo red, that seems to look styled naturally. Or it could be the unnaturally vibrant blue eyes, though they often reflect disdain over humour. There’s also the feminine grace to her features, from her plush lips to her slim neck, all broken by a single scar that trails from her forehead to her cheekbone, between the eyes.
Of course these are the features often noticed by the more gentlemanly. Those less inclined to manners would notice her athletically slim, yet naturally voluptuous body, thanks to her Gerudo heritage. Next to that there’s her ample chest and her fit, slim legs, her feline sway or even the tightness of her naval. It doesn’t help that she doesn’t hide these things, often more inclined to wear a short jacket and shirt and low-riding leather pants, complete with a bountiful number of belts around her leg.
WEAPONS,NaurlambeA simple Gerudo two-handed scimitar by design, the only extraordinary feature about the weapon is the red blade. Designed purely to be practical in combat over flashy. In truth the sword was commissioned specifically for Nairore, the styling on the blade combining both the combat practicality of a Gerudo weapon and the craftsmanship of Hylian weaponry. The real trick is the enchantment on the sword. Activated at will by the wielder, the sword, as you could guess, ignites into flame. This increases damage done by the sword by a slight amount. This lasts for a few minutes at a time, as it draws on the energy of the wielder and is designed not to fatigue them. At any point during the ignition or as it is ending the energy contained in the sword can be shot out with a swipe of the blade, creating a blade beam that travels quickly in the direction it is shot. This beam does double the normal damage of an attack from the sword, but requires more energy, and thus prolongs the use of the ignition. (Duration: 5 posts or until discharged in blade beam. Cooldown: 2 posts without beam, 3 posts with beam.)
ITEMS,-
ABILITIES,War and Peace ConflictingNairore has an extraordinary ability that has come from years of training with her adoptive father and learning his healing techniques. While she is unable to outright use magic, she has learned to incorporate it into her combat technique. Half of any damage done by Nairore while this ability is active is translated into healing upon her, effectively leeching life off of her foe. If she should be completely healed at any point, the life force is turned into sheer energy. If she does damage while this ability is active and is already at full health, Nairore gains a temporary moderate boost to her damage output on her next attack. While this boost is in effect it nullifies the lifegain aspect of the ability. (Duration: 2 posts, or until a temporary boost is used. Cooldown: 4 posts, only starts after a temporary boost is used)
RACIAL ABILITIES,
Life of WarThe Gerudos have a harsh life. Constantly preparing for battle and waging war, they are the fiercest warrior race this world has ever known, and they strike fear into lesser combatants.
- Level 1 - Two handed weapons can be effortlessly wielded in one hand.
- Level 2 - The gerudo is unfazed by any environment, whether it be sweltering heat, frigid ice, or the depths of the ocean... provided they have a way to breath.
- Level 3 - Though they still take some damage, bleeding a bit and such, a Gerudo is able to stop a regular strike from a weapon with their bare hands.
Spirit and Technique, Flawless and FirmThe Gerudo, having been trained from birth for combat, are some of the most skilled fighters in the world. They know techniques that few can replicate, and know tricks that give them an advantage.
- Level 1 - Once every 2 posts, a gerudo can zero in on an enemy, catching up to them in an instant. Useful for ranged opponents or fleeing opponents.
HISTORY,
Although she doesn’t look it, from the brown hair to the blue eyes, she is a pure-blooded Gerudo. She would never admit this, though, and even outright deny it in certain environments. She was raised to ignore her heritage, to blend into Hylian society and act like them, not to be a Gerudo. This was the edict set down by her adopted father Zenethil. Of course the Gerudo heritage works its way into some aspects of her life, she is fairly successful at not drawing attention to that fact.
Her mother was of the desert, a band of Gerudo who traveled the main trade routes and set up ambushes for caravans and travelers along the way. They were part gypsy and part bandit, which was all that was needed to attract unwanted attention. This unwanted attention manifested itself as a band of Hylian Knights, albeit rather low ranked to take on a small group of bandits. They raided the Gerudo camp and slew everyone to put an end to the menace. Everyone, that is, aside from the young infant Gerudo who would later grow up as Nairore.
One of the Knights, the one who had slain her mother, found the baby resting in the tent, not even a couple years old at that point. That Knight’s name was Zenethil, and he found a fondness somewhere inside of him. Instead of abandoning the newly orphaned child to the desert he took her with him, took her in, and she became his secret shame. As he grew through the ranks she became more and more of a liability, but he continued to raise her as if she were his child, and for all she knew that was how it was supposed to be.
He taught her to fight, which she took up easily. In fact she was remarkably talented with a sword, even for a Gerudo. However when he tried to teach her magic she was much less adept, unable to cast even a weak healing spell, the most basic of basic. So her training eventually turned to pure combat, with various weapons, though she seemed to inherently favour a scimitar. Yet another call out to the heritage that Zenethil tried so hard to bury.
Unfortunately his duties with the Hylian Knights always placed priority, so Nairore was left to fend for herself most of the time. She had a home, at the very least, though she found the walls too confining and wandered off mostly. Eventually she found somewhere to train with other people, but found they were far too easy, they didn’t test her skill. So she began fighting more than one of them at a time. Needless to say it was manageable, though she never felt like she was improving, never satisfying that urge to get better.
This was all before she even started to develop as a woman. Come her sixteenth birthday she was presented with a sword, Naurlambe, crafted specifically for her by her father. His secret shame was disappearing, and she became yet another source of pride for him. She accompanied her father on a mission or two, excelling far above other initiates that he was testing, even besting some of the more seasoned Knights with a bit of effort. Needless to say her skill with the blade was great and while she was a valuable asset to the Knights, her heritage disallowed them from accepting her into their ranks.
They all liked to hold their magical superiority over her behind Zenethil’s back, too, since she was incapable of using magic.
Still she yearns to better herself, to overcome her weakness with magic and become the best swordsman she could be. She accepts any challenge and eagerly awaits a fight where it can be found, either with or without the sword (for what swordsman is trained in only one aspect of combat?).
