Round #1, Match #8: Faden vs Kotone Dragmire

[Nightmare Darklight]

(OOC: If you don't post for three days without a warning, you get a strike. If you get three strikes, you forfeit. If you get two strikes in a row, you forfeit.)

As you enter the arena, you are immediately greeted by cheers of spectators. It's a small arena, square, with marble stone. Obviously not meant to match the grandiose nature of the coliseum, but it'll have to do. Around you are rows upon rows of seats, filled with spectators, watching your every move.

Your opponent stood in front of you. The magic barriers that would protect the audience from you two went up. The barrier was a unique thing. It was in fact, powered by the audience, strengthened by the mana each member had, little or small. Not to mention that the thing was blessed by Princess Zelda herself. There pretty much wasn't a force in the world that could shatter this thing, not without godlike power backing it up.

With that under the way, it was time to roll. The announcer brought the attention of the world to you and your opponent.

"And for our first round, we have... Faden, the Shinigami versus... Kotone Dragmire, the King's Adviser!"

Another voice chimed, apparently there were two people, so this fight apparently had some form of commentary. Yay.

"Two of Ganondorf's descendants are in this tournament? Are you really sure we should revive them?"

"YES. YES WE SHOULD. STOP ASKING."

BATTLE TIME, GOOOOOOO!

Kotone stood there as she heard someone say something about the descendants of Ganondorf. Even more how they should leave them for dead. She glares as she could not talk but she sure was cussing up a storm in her head. She sighed letting out a long breath as she pulled out her bow and put an arrow in it. She knew Sheikah heck she was raise up by them with her sister and brother so she knew what to think of them and what to watch out for.

She was wearing her Gerudo outfit as she would wear her traveling outfit however Merik was here. She did not want to show off her body like that around him. Just thinking about it made her blush a bit. She shook her head as she aims and fire as soon as she heard Go. She went right away shooting off arrows at the Sheikah keeping her way from him.

This time, he wasn't here to play games. The fight would be over as quickly as possible, this was for the money. He wasn't in this for the fight, nor to make these fans happy. All he would do, was make the other person stop moving, and possibly stop breathing all together. The way he did it, it didn't matter. Killing was allowed, and this is what Faden enjoyed, his blood lust would soon kick in.

The amphitheater was full, and the fans were rowdy. They cheered him on, and it almost made him feel like he should give them the show they wanted, but he wouldn't. His robes were normal, but now they had very light steel armor on key parts of his body. Mainly his shoulders, and chest. Though he wore leather boots. A mask covered his mouth, and his hood shielded the rest of his face. All that could be seen is his glaring crimson eyes.

"I'll end this quickly." he shouted over to the Gerudo, and his hatred for them he would keep inside. Not wanting to cause a commotion, the Ganondorf-esque woman wouldn't get to his head inadvertently. Just as he spoke, he noticed the bow being pulled on. Though before she even pulled the strings back, he vanished from his location. Serpentine patterns were his best bet, and it would be almost impossible to hit him as he did this. Though she still seemed to shoot arrows in his distance.

Luckily, the sun was directly behind him in the sky, and she was now only meters in front of him. Just as he weeved out of arrows. Using the sun's position to his advantage, he changed his movement, and went straight toward her in a bee-line. This would soon only be hindered by a few arrows, which he was easily able to dodge by slightly strafing his momentum. Within six feet from her, he wasn't in striking distance, but as he gained one foot more, his shadow stretched over her body.

If she didn't move from her current position, she would surely be dead at his point. Since Faden's tendrils would rip straight from his shadow and into her stomach. Though as another measure, Faden had already taken his six foot scythe from his back, and if she stood anywhere within sex feet from him, any arcing motion he would do would slice straight through her.

To Kotone this could not go any better for her as she was born and raise to be a fighter. Heck a guard for the Gerudo King to protect him and his silly ways from getting his self killed or hurt for that matter. So this fight was almost like a another training lesson from long ago with her Sheikah teacher or sisters. The roar of the crowds for him was funny but silly at the same time. She already knew her sisters, cousins, and Merik would be cheering for her and that all she needed to know.

With the Barrier in place she was free to use her specials with no fear of hurting her own people watching. However she doubt she use it in this fight for the fact of who she was fighting with. A Sheikah was post to be more like a ninja or assassin in the night not in the day head on like this. Their skills are more fitted to sneak attacks not full on combat even more so in the day. Kotone was a book nerd history was her thing most of the time. However with so much information in her head she knew different way even her teacher never taught her to use.

Sure she love to fight Rang however every Gerudo know they are best close fighting. With him bee ling to her she already figure out what she was going to do as her bow was put up fast as she jump off to the side going in to a roll on the ground. She knew far to well of the shadows powers of the Sheikah even more so their weapons. However this was the first she seen that came out like tentacles of a squid from the sea. As she roll and came to a stop she was four feet behind him. His shadow was not here only hers. She was taking a chance of him not using her shadow as she did not know how far his shadow skill lies. She just hope not as much as her teacher were.

[ Well this is where this is going to get confusing. You stated in above post that you "jumped to the side" whichever way you jumped, Faden already had his scythe at the ready for this. And within a six foot radius was his scythes maximum distance. Since you're jumping to the side of him, and assumed he would keep going, that would be wrong. He'd of stopped as soon as his shadow covered your entire body.

So, if he stopped and you jumped, as you escaped he would of swung with all his speed, which is 6x faster than a human, so just imagine how fast 6x an average human is. That's still pretty damn fast, no matter how you imagine it. Otherwise, I was going to try and help you out and tell you. Though last time I got banned as it was implied I was personally attacking you. I only stated this just now to apologize if it felt that way. I have nothing against you, and I was honestly being a little rash about it, but that's just me. I viewed it as meta-game/god-mod, but that's still my opinion.

You might disagree, and I talked with Night about it, and he won't judge it unless you disagree with what I did. So here it is. ]

The brisk movement of the Gerudo was deafened by the swing of his scythe as it clapped against the air around it. The blade arced forward, and as she jumped it would easily catch her foot, or stomach. If so, the arcing motion would allow it to rip straight through bone. You can already assume what that means, if it sliced through bone, then either her leg is gone, or perhaps even her whole body would be torn in half. Just in case some magical miracle happened for her, he was ready to let go of his scythe and dodge.

Faden's speed was almost unmatched. There was never a person who could best, or even equal his speed, that he has met. Always the fastest, always the quickest. It's what made him such a good assassin. There was no way to understand the difficulty of keeping his entire identity a secret. He was known as The Shinigami, but only certain people actually knew what that meant. It was a code for his blade for hire, other than that he was able to keep the rumors down easily. If anyone snitched on him, it would cause them and whomever they told to die.

Sh*t! Kotone was not even able to get behind it before his weapon came right at her. Which was a surprise since she was rolling on as she dodge but somehow he still seem to have great speed. She never seen speed like this before however she was not going to die here let alone go back to Merik with a missing arm or leg. Her twin daggers came out clashing with his scythe as sparks would fly in the air. His speed pushed her back a bit but she knew if she can get lose then he won't be able to swing that with her in his face.

With at lest one dagger still pushing back his scythe from rip her apart she lung forward with her other dagger. She had to get him. His strength was ok but that speed is what going to kill her if she does not watch it. She wonder if Merik could handle this. This was the first time in a long time she had fears of losing and this was no sparing. If it was not for the fact there was fairies on hand she might make a run for it. However since fairies were on hand ready for anything she will push herself and not make Merik upset at the events.

[ Well, I hope you won't hate me.

I just wanted to take this time to explain myself, and Night will probably get mad if I am saying I am cutting this fight short. What you first did wrong was stated that you lunged toward me. You never stated where your dagger was heading for, so I will assume it will be toward my chest. Which would have a thin armor that would be easy to penetrate, but slows the blades momentum. Even if possible, it'd barely do anything beyond a flesh wound.

I am not trying to say you did wrong. Ohh, and quite little note, he never used his shadow powers. Since you "broke" my post before his shadow got close enough to overshadow your body. That means I never used my power. Dx ]

Watching in disbelief, he could see the exchange in metal as she so suddenly lunged forward. For a moment, he feared his life. Then his blood lust kicked in. underneath that mask of his, was an expression like no other. He let go of his Scythe, which in turn meant she didn't need to push it back. This sent her flying toward him more fiercely. Within that moment, he pushed her wrist from making contact with his body. This fight was getting interesting, thus Faden knew he had to end this, this crowd would be getting too much joy from their fighting. That irked him.

There wasn't much reaction time within those moments. Leaving his scythe behind, he quickly jumped backward. This small jump was enough to get his shadow to cascade around her. Within moments a tendril came forth, and quickly jabbed it's way toward her chest. Aiming directly for the heart. With the constant motion she exerted, it would be hard to quickly stop her motion and move in another direction. The way he figured either she got hit by the tendril through the heart, or perhaps through the shoulder. Whichever it was, he was willing to dodge her attacks once more if needed.

Kotone felt and saw he drop his weapon. She surly thought she had him and this be the end of him however he jump back. Which was not going to be a problem for her. However before she could even have her feet touch the ground something came at her striking her shoulder. That that moment fear came threw her body as if she did not look where Faden was jumping back to it would of went threw her heart. Her mouth was open as hot air came out but no scream came out. She was mute and even her scream was nothing.

Her body was jerk to the stop due to the tendril. This was something she never encounter before. Sure she seen Shadow skill of Sheikah as it was something of a horror book. As soon her mind snapped back to the battle her daggers swing at the harden shadow tendril so she can get free form it and move away and re think this battle and fast. She used her left arm due her right was the one strike threw it.
