Dagorn stood looking out onto the ocean for the first time. It was magnificent in deed. The azure waves were waging war against the cliff side crashing in a melodic pattern. It was trying majestic the way the light reflected of the water. Dagorn knew not to get to close to the edge of the cliff for fear of falling over. Despite his immense strength and mastery of unarmed combat Dagron did not know how to swim, and he doubted that even if he did he would be able. If he were to fall over the edge there was not doubt in his mind that he would sink to the bottom like the rock he is. Small white birds flew high above the ocean in circles. This place was beautiful and best of all quiet. The sounds of the birds and the waves crashing was like music to Dagorn's ears. His thoughts drifted to those of Death Mountain.
Dagorn had lost track of the weeks it had been since he had left his home in hope of understanding the world better and getting to meet the other races. So far the journey had been a good one with only minor hiccups along the way. This had all started with the meeting with the Gerudo. His encounter with her made Dagorn realize he had never left Death Mountain, and that other races had very little exposure to Gorons. He had already meet the small wood folk and he was sure that there would be some interesting people somewhere around here, but for now he would just sit here and enjoy the scenery and the peace wondering what was across the ocean.

Once again he was on land, it was a constant dislike for him being in this form and for whatever reason each time he took it the humans and other species that walked on land tended to stare ( he's naked). For the moment however Leviathan was simply taking his time to get used to this form once again. It had been a month or so since he had walked upon the land of the Joor. And taking time to get used to this walking business again was something else. So along the coasts near the waters edge, the easiest place for him to maintain his natural moisture that was required for survival.
Whilst his powers tended to take care of that, it was simply more comfortable to have this natural source so close. The birds flew high above, shrieking out their cries that seemed almost mocking. Such feeble creatures.
To him, it seemed that the Sahlo, the weak lived above the depths. Jul, man and other Joor. Whereas it was only the Mul, the strong like him who could live within its darkness and still dominate. It seemed however that he was not the only one on these waters edges today. The cliffs held another, not a Jul, but certainly Joor. It was interesting that Leviathan had not seen one of this kind before. He was curious as to just how this one would taste. But likely the task of devouring him in this form would be a long and tedious waste of time.
That and the day had already been filled with flesh, his stomach still struggling to digest. Normally he would wait until it was empty before shifting to this form. But he had not, doing so would mean giving up the day light and in the form of the Jul he could not see so well at night. This only resulted in him spewing up a rancid red goo the moment he changed. And his stomach was still struggling with its contents. But it bothered him less now. He moved to see just what the Joor was looking out at and it seemed that indeed it was simply the ocean. He could understand this sentiment. His conclusion earlier that the Joor wishing dominance over the depths was simply to oversight their own weakness. Yet they could never sink beneath. To its true glory.
"...Drem yo lok Joor, I greet you".
The common tongue of mortal man was strange. Filled with too many....meanings. The langauge of his people was far more direct and still it was easier to say it in his own than to talk as they did.

It was still odd for Dagorn to see water that did not have steam coming out from it, but it looked nice and was a lot nicer to listen to. Suddenly Dagorn heard a voice. He was slightly started as he did not expect to see a stranger. But the man was obviously unarmed and so he posed no threat to Dagorn. Dagorn moved forward and gave the naked man a big bear hug. " Greetings stranger! It is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Dagorn, what is yours?" To many it would be awkward and somewhat homoerotic to embrace a naked man, not to Dagorn who had now such reservations. This man was kind enough to use his races introduction so Dagorn would do his best to do the same. Who is this stranger and what was he doing on the cliff. It took almost an entire day for Dagorn to climb up up this far and he was used to spending an entire day moving up hill at a steady pace. Perhaps the stranger had some sort of household around here. Or he was just on a quest for self enlightenment like Dagorn.

So it would seem that indeed it was just the strangeness of the Joor that caused them to stare for this creature in front of him knew no such rudeness. But in fact moved in to embrace him! There was a strangeness to this closeness, not of being naked ( for he knew of no such bar to this) and being hugged. But rather that there was this closeness between Ah, and Ahtet. Usually it was an embrace of deadlier proportions. Squeezing the life out of his Ahtet and watching the Faal, the light fade from their eyes. But this was not of such a thing, there was implied closeness behind it. A greeting, perhaps of the Joor. Not in hunger and not wishing to harm this one for now. He merely returned the favour with arms closed around, stood back and listened to the man speak his name and greeting.
" Drem al Dun Dagron, Peace and Graces"
There was a question however, just what was he to call himself? Leviathan had no name, he knew that from the knowing he was to recieve his name from those around him. The others. But they were now gone. Still, it only made sense that he take a name from others. It was within the knowing. And the only words he had heard uttered around him by the Joor and Jul were " Leviathan". So that was the name that he would take on. And would give henceforth. " My name is Leviathan". Introductions traded the great serpant ( albiet less serpant like today) looked back at the seas and smiled albiet briefly.
" What is it that brings you to this place of the Mul?".
Part of it, genuine curiousity. Another, satisfying his intial goal. He wanted to know why the Joor came to the seas, and why they were not terrified of what they clearly should be.

It was very rare for a non Goron to return the hug, as most spent their time just trying to get Dagorn to stop embracing them. The fact that Leviathan didn't implied he wanted to be a friend of Dagorn. And if that was the case than Dagorn would be more than happy to oblige him. He did accept Dagorn's racial greeting of a hug, so it was only fair that Dagorn did the same. Trying his best to repeat the words on his friend Dagorn began to speak."" Dreem all Dum Leviathan, Peace and Graces"
Leviathan's language whatever it was was very hard to pronounce. Dagorn was sure that he mispronounced most of it, but its the thought that counts. The question of why he visited this land was an easy one to answer. "I have no idea what the place of the Mul is but I am here because I was wandering around the world searching for a greater understanding of oneness. I also seek to learn about the other people and their culture." Dagorn finally let go of the tiny one. Hoping his answer was satisfactory.

The man spoke the words wrongly, in fact the rendition of his speech ended up having him say something along the lines of,pieces of the graceful. Whilst this would have been a welcome thing for Leviathan had the Joor been offering him food. He knew that this was a mere oversight in the mans greeting. Attempting to learn the words of his people. That was something new. Whilst he had learned the words of the common tongue relatively fast he imagined that people who spoke in his langauge were few and far between. And were more than likely not actually people at all. But it seemed that the man before him was trying to understand his words. He did not know what the place of the Mul was, after all. Why would he?
" Ah...The Place of the Mul, it is here. It is there. It is the waves below".
Again words for what it was in the common tongue were more difficult. His voice more direct than theirs. " It is what you call the Water, the ocean. It is a place of the strong". Pride seemed to beam from his voice at this prospect. Despite his adult frame and incredibly large size in his actual form, one could not forget that despite being a fully grown Leviathan. He was only six years old and still had that nature of the childer around him. Pride. Arrogance. But in years time that would likely pass and move into quiet confidence and caution. Leviathan were long lived creatures like dragons. He still had much to learn about this world. And seemed to still be doing so even now. In that the two of them seemed to share a goal.
" I too wish to learn of this world and its people"
Of course, that included multiple different things. From why they were now rulers of the seas. To how each different race tasted, thus far. Hylian was the best. But it still didn't compare to whale. He looked to the Joor. " Have you learned much?"

What a fascinating concept it was, the ocean a place of residence. It was odd but not impossible, after all Dagorn's people lived in Death Mountain and most people considered that inhospitable. Dagorns musings were cut short when he heard the words "a place of the strong." Oh how wonderful a race as strong as the mighty Gorons would be great allies indeed. No wonder Leviathan did no retreat when Dagorn hugged him! Perhaps they sumo wrestled too! Dagorns face broke out into a smile as he mused the possibilities.
" It is wonderful to meet someone as proud of their race and their homeland as my people! I hope yo do not mind much if I ask what your people are called. Not to be offensive, I am new to this part of the land. As for wishing to learn more of the world and its people, I would be very happy to discuss the mighty Goron race over a meal. I have more than enough food to share."

Well it semed that things were getting off to a rather interesting start. Now the Joor was asking questions of his own. The first of which Leviathan had to consult his "knowing" about. The knowing was a simple thing to him, but it ws more complicated to ever try and explain to an outsider. The knowing was how he knew how to speak in his ansestors tongue despite not having them around to converse with. It was how he knew to swim. How to kill. To put it to the Jur, it would be how their children knew to walk and stand up. How birds knew how to fly. It was instinct. Something written inside of him like a memory he had never experienced. In his tongue one word resonated for his kind when he thought of them. Thought of gathering a mate.
" My people, they are called the Mul Dovah".
It was a haughty title, but then they were an arrogant race. The term roughly translated to as the " mighty dragons, or strong dragons". Then again it was the only way that he really could describe his race, in his lanagauge the word for sea and ocean, was a noun, a naming phrase. Speaking as if the sea was a person as opposed to an object. So to call his kind with the name of a sea dragon in his tongue, would indicate that they belonged to the sea. Rather than the reverse. " However they are long gone from this land, only I live here now". True and false. They were gone, but not just from this land, but from all. He was the only one here.
It was interesting to know that this Joor however used the same word in the common tongue to describe his race as Leviathan had used to describe his own. Certainly for Joor he looked mighty enough, and that hug likely could have crushed bones if meant with ill intent. So, Leviathan was curious as to just what other creatures lived that were similar to his own. The word food was brought up and Leviathan was pleased, his stomach was indeed starting to settle.
" Tell me of this gorgon race....Av du....indeed, I would enjoy to share this with you".

Dagorn reached for his pouch and pulled out various stones, gems, and rocks and handed half them to his new friend. After splitting up his food evenly Dagorn began eating. While it was not nesscary for him to cary food with him due to its abundance, he decided before leaving his home that he would take some of the finer cuts of sone and gems for himself on his long journey. Nothing was better than ruby and volcanic glass and the fact he was willing to share it with the stranger was a big deal.
"We Gorons live inside of Death Mountian, a volcano. We are known across the land for being the physically strongest and for our master smithing. As you can no doubt tell we are actually made up of stone, and we eat minerals and the like for food. We are in general almost twice as tall as the other races and are known for our master smithing." Dagorn was smiling the entire time he told the tale of his people. He was not one for showboating but he knew everything he said was pure fact. "And what of your people?" He stared at Levithan waiting for him to eat his rubies and glass.

Now this was interesting indeed, this creature was actually made up of stone. Leviathan had suspected that perhaps it was some kind of defense mechanism like the stone fish. They were scaled creatures whose skin was tough and camoflagued to look like rock. But this Joor was ACTUALLY a living stone. Most facinating indeed. Picking up the first of the rocks he placed it into his mouth and chewed. It was crunchy and if he hadn't been as strong as he was, likely it would have broken his jaw trying to chew it.
But although it took a few moments ( like a man trying to eat a jaw breaker) it crumbled and he managed to swallow. Nodding all the while, popping one of the gems into his mouth and following the same proceedure. Albiet cutting up his gums something awful with the gem. Although the taste of blood added to the flavour which made it more enjoyable.
Pain with Leviathans was more a secondary reaction, trumped by eating. Most things were. Except of course mating. Although since that was out of the book. Eating came first. The lord of the sea was interested in this death mountain and its people. They were the strongest of the races that inhabited the land. And whilst he knew nothing of this " smithing". he was sure that it too was as interesting a thing as these rock biters. Now however it appeared to be Leviathan's turn. What he knew of his people he had to speak from well. Personal experience and instinct as opposed to actual history. " We dwell in the seas. We are generally the largest and fearsome of the Paike, the predators....well that I have seen". Of course at the moment this would not mean much to the Gorgon, as he was simply as large as any man right now.
Crunching another gem he looked up with a mouth full. "..We..eat...*swallows* most things....fish..whales....people....and these gems and stones...they are quite flavour filled...".. That would probably be more of a point of concern. The whole eating people thing said with such a howdy doo attitude. " I must continue to take this form however whilst walking amongst the Joor, my true form is not built for land". Of course he did miss out that his true form was also not built for social interactions. But that kind of went without saying.

Dagorn was ecstatic that the stranger actually ate some of the food. Most the people he encountered either ran of with the gems or declined. But no this person ate rocks just like him. For once he found something he had something in common with. Something confused Dagorn, Leviathan said that they were the largest and most fearsome of the Paike but to Dagorn the stranger looked like a youngling. Perhaps It would be more conferrable in its "true form". "If your true form is more conferrable the water is right by us. Dagorn was very curious to see the true form of his new friend and no matter how weird it might be he made it a personal goal to not be judgmental and to accept the stranger for what and who he was. After all Dagorn could not count the number of people who are afraid of him for his large 12foot stature. Plus maybe the new friend would be more talkative if in his true form.

Now that was an interesting proposal but ultimately one that he couldn't go thrhough with. For one, being in this form held the advantage of a smaller stomach and mouth. Which meant eating this Joor was going to be both difficult and cumbersome. Which left him just accepting the point of not eating him despite the curiousity of how a rock soul tasted. If he was in his full form, with part of his former meal lying on the beach and the other part of it fully digested. It would leave him quite peckish and with a curiousity sitting in front of him he would be unable to resist. Well there was that and, as big as he was. Being on a cliff it would be unlikely to get the full scale of his true form. So it was pointless.
" Pruuzuh joor, you are most kind to offer. But it is not a good idea for it to be done so today"
He wouldn't of course mention that it was the whole " I might eat you" thing. But rather continued his little meal of stones and gems. He was seemingly insaitable. Stones were a practical thing to eat he would think even with an organic digestive system. The birds, the rodants in the sky knew this. As even they ate stones to help with the grinding of the food and thus its digestion. The Jul, man and their counterparts did not require this due to the shape of their teeth. Like cows they would chew. But those without teeth. Or with teeth not designed for grinding but penetration and tearing ( such as himself) would understand its usefulness.
" However perhaps another time, there is much to learn in this place, and I feel if we are on the same path then it is likely dez do heyv, will see us meet once more"
He looked out away from the sea and towards the inland. A question to vary the subject. " I have not yet ventured far from this place...where would you suggest I go to learn more?....this place of the Joor de Quethse'gol does interest me...the death mountain....".

It was odd to Dagorn for the man to refuse to go into into his true from. Then again perhaps he was like a Zora and needed water, heat or cold for the other form to be comfortable. That would not be to far out of the realm of possibility. Even more interesting was that the man wanted to know more of Dagorn's homeland, Death Mountain. Dagorn could tell that Leviathan was new to speaking he language because he would often phase into his native tongue on more difficult words. This did not indicate Leviathan's level of intelligence. Still there was sorting about Leviathan that intrigued Dagorn. More Intresting was the fact that Levithan wanted to hear about Death Mountain. Dagorns was more than happy to talk about his homeland to anyone that would listen.
"Death Mountain is a fire mountain, a volcano. We live there and mine rocks and smith beautiful weapons in the lava. The scorching aired heat, and the high altitude deter most predators and visitors. We are a humble people and we live simply. There are always drums playing and we are known to dance when the mood strikes us. There is not much more to it than that. Do you have any questions?"

Listening to the explanation of Death Mountain brought about some unsurprising information. The place was apparently of fire and heat. Whilst Leviathan understood the concept this place was a volcano ( they had volcano’s underwater, although they were rarely seen by those who lived on land) he could not understand the logic of a species actually living there. Then again, it might explain the state of the Gorgon people.
Made of stone less as a defence and camouflage against predators and more to protect them from the natural uncomfortable surroundings of their native homeland. Like how fish over time developed gills to breathe beneath the water, these people must have developed their hide as a way to survive the harshness of the mountain.
“ Yoi, you are the fish of the land”.
Leviathan let out a mild smile as if there was a glimmer of understanding in his words, however his as-of-this-moment-inedible friend may not have understood just what he meant. “ Gills to breathe, and stone to protect”. He elaborated on that point. Next there was the opportunity for more questions. So he would gladly indulge this kindness. “ Yes....I do wonder of this land just what kind of peoples live here...I have already encountered the Jul, man....and Hylian...but the rest as of yet to elude my sight....tell me of these peoples if you would”.

Dagorn had never been compared to a fish before. He guessed it made sense after all. Though Dagorn never really considered why he was the way he was. Gorons were just the people of stone to him, and he really never bothered to try and figure out how or why his people were they way they were. That being said Leviathan did make some very good points... though it was odd to Dagorn how everything Leviathan talked about came back to aquatic metaphors. Even worse was his curiosity about men and Hylian, which Dagorn knew nothing of.
"I regret to tell you that sadly that I know nothing of those people nor their race. I am afraid I am just as new to exploring this land and its numerous races." Dagorn hoped this did not ager his friend to much but he really was not that knowledgeable when it came to such matters. After all he had yet to visit hyrule.
