He had to admit, it was a long time since he came here.
Way off in the sacred grove, there lied an abandoned temple. It wasn't really noticable either. Oh sure, while the Master Sword was in the sacred grove as well, this one was a little farther off. Honestly, why were people so determined to hide legendary things in forests? Ah well, it didn't matter, everyone who know about these places would just focus on the Master Sword, if they even knew that existed. And that had the nasty problem of having some kind of bloodline detection or something. In all the years he knew about that sword, literally no one else seemed to be able to grab that thing save the Hero.
Made his life easier.
So while Dark Link had passed the area containing the blade of evil's bane, he ventured onward, into another abandoned building. His armored footsteps clacking and clanking against the stone floors. He had never really dropped the Black Knight guise. Oh sure, he had his usual form, but the truth was, he actually preferred this form. As for why he enjoyed it well, they were his own reasons. But if he had to choose between his usual look and this, then he adored this. Plus things in general had been going well. He could hear it from here.
The Twilight Princess, at this moment, was fighting for the first piece of the Fused Shadow, not too far off.
Within the building though, lay a pedestal, holding a simple golden sword. That was what he was here for. The shade inwardly smirked as he approached the blade, standing in front of it. In a way, he felt like the Hero of Time did, standing in front of the blade that would forge his destiny, but alas, that blade would never be his. Nevertheless, the shade reached out to grasp the golden sword...
And was burned on contact.
Dark Link pulled his hand away. Great. Whoever made this decided to put off another darkness warding charm too. He sighed. He figured that there was a loophole around this, and thankfully he had it. Granted, he had to do something that he completely loathed to do. He shifted back into his normal form, his dark skin, attire, and red eyes contrasting against the temple. He rolled his eyes in sheer annoyance.
His appearance began to change again, but not the shape. Rather, the color changed. His clothes became green, his white eye became blond, his skin fair, and his eyes blue. He was assuming the form of the legendary hero. Honestly, he hated it. It was bad enough when you were the guy's shadow, but when you had to be the guy himself? Ugh. Nevertheless, he held his hand out to grasp the blade, and this time, he wasn't burned. Smiling lightly, the shade effortlessly pulled out the golden sword and examined it.
He supposed being the Hero's shadow had its perks when you impersonated the guy.
Holding the blade in his hand, he walked on over to the wall. Was there some secret to the wall that the Shade knew about? Maybe. But clearly the shade had a plan, as he held the sword up to the sky. The light of the moon shined on the blade, causing it to act as a beacon of sorts. It was a rather beautiful sight to behold. And then, he brought the sword down with a mighty roar, as the blade cut through the air...
... and into the wall.
An audible clang could be heard in the abandoned temple as it rang throughout its empty stone walls. This was his big plan. Again, he struck the sword against the wall, thinking it the most convenient way to break it. This kept up for a while, each strike causing another sound to echo throughout the temple as Dark Link relentlessly bashed the blade against the stones in an attempt to break it.
Finally, some progress, as the blade snapped in two. Oh sure, people always thought that you needed mystical powers to break something of legend. Well, not exactly true. Granted, it was hard as hell to do, but if the wielder was damn determined to break it, then just bashing it against something hard for a while would do it.
Instantly, wind began to billow throughout the temple, and Dark Link knew he had to act. His form shifted yet again as he dropped the broken sword. He transformed from the rather handsome form of the hero into the arguably manly form of his nemesis. The shade mentally snickered to himself. He didn't really like assuming Ganondorf's appearance all that much, but he figured it would make for a nice prank for the one in the sword. Plus, it was better than assuming the hero's form. The wind came in from everywhere, racing from the far reaches of the world like a hurricane converging on the center of the chamber.
Racing, racing, so eager to embrace its master.
It was as if the entire world took a deep breath. The air pressure in the chamber built, and built, and built until it was as if all the oceans of Hyrule were pressing down on it. The air in the center of the chamber cracked, a chaotic spiderweb spreading out from a point fixed in mid-air.
The fabric of the world shattered and fell away, exposing its underside of water and mist for brief seconds as the Lord of Breath clawed his way into the light.
The pressure of the hurricane was relieved in an explosion as He took his first breath and it was the breath of the world and the world did welcome Him.
On the day of resurrection, God breathed a thunderstorm.
He climbed to his feet, facing the one who had freed Him. His voice was not the voice of anything living but it was the voice of the storm and the crack of the thunder and the fall of the lightning.

Success! As the one trapped inside freed himself, Dark Link could feel a sense of pride swelling up inside him. He had to be honest, he had his doubts that it would even work. People always thought you needed some ridiculous ritual to do it. And you did, sometimes. Honestly, he couldn't break the Master Sword no matter how hard he tried. The Four Sword though? He could. Hell, if the one before him had done it once before, why couldn't the shade?
And then Vaati opened his mouth.
"Even the big guy himself wasn't that bad..."
In response, what Dark Link did was rather simple, he held up his hand, on the back a golden triangle with the top part glowing. Oh sure, he didn't have the actual Triforce, but he could at least replicate the tattoo it managed to leave. With that, he curled his fingers inward, inviting Vaati to come a bit closer.
This was going to be interesting. [/blockquote]

The wind raced and screamed and wailed in ecstasy as its lord and master was carried up in its arms. This insect's arrogance was fast spending any favor it might have gained by freeing Him. He was angry, but not murderous. Not yet. Crushing such an insect would be beneath Him.
He floated closer to the would-be acolyte. His voice became more modulated as His radiance settled and this shell of flesh developed functioning vocal chords. "You do not impress me," was His decree. His voice reverberated oddly, as if coming from a great distance and close by at the same time. "Your power will suffice as tribute. Surrender it."

Ok, Ganon time was over. He had had his fun. Clearly Vaati didn't really recognize the form of the man, either that or he didn't care. Shrugging slightly, the shade's form began to change again, this time back to the Black Knight that he had entered as. However, it seemed that Vaati wasn't done. Instead, he was now demanding Dark Link's power for himself. Right, that was a bit odd. Maybe the Wind Mage's power had waned due to all that time cooped up in the sword?
"Oh sure, you can try and take my power." The Black Knight shrugged. "I'd kill you. I'd kill the shit out of you and eat YOUR FACE." He mentally noted. He was feeling pretty confident if his thoughts of Vaati being weakened were true. Thankfully, he didn't need Vaati to be at full power if such were the case, he just needed him to be able to do things.
"Orrrrrr, you can take my gift~" The shade snapped his fingers, and immediately a large bundle of cloth appeared in his hands, wrapped around... something. The shade seemed to have overdone it with the cloth, and there wasn't really any details that could be made from it. Honestly, it seemed like a bit of a gamble. [/blockquote]

The bundle floated out of Dark Link's hands, borne by the wind that was so eager to please its master. Take it, it whispered. Take it and let us please you oh lord. Look. Look we're unwrapping it for you master.
The cloth fell away from the bundle, exposing the black blade within. "You will tell me what this is," He ordered.

Well, at least that was something that Dark Link was actually more willing to comply with. To be honest, he would've explained it anyway, but he figured he could let Vaati feel like he was doing it purely out of obedience. It'd get him moving, whatever. "Now THAT is something I can work with." He remarked. Really, it was much better than having to beat up the guy he had just freed. What an entitled jackass.
He pointed to the serrated black sword. "That's a sword." Dark Link stated the absolute obvious, as if subtly insulting Vaati's intelligence. "More specifically, it's a sentient sword, a sword with a spirit, personality and powers." Really, the sword he had gotten was one of a kind. Well, not really, there was a counterpart, as most thngs these days happened to have. But between the counterpart and this gem, he much preferred this one.
It knew that nagging him for obvious crap like low health was annoying.
"Truth be told, I've never gotten a name for the sword itself. But the spirit inside the sword is a rather colorful individual that goes by the name of Ghirahim. Back in his day, he was a powerful Demon Lord before Hyrule was even Hyrule." Honestly, he felt like taking a jab at Vaati while simultaneously giving him some common ground between him and the spirit. It was tempting him and you know what? He was gonna take it.
Reaching out a finger, the Shade poked the black blade, in a way trying to make sure if it was still there. Honestly, he wondered why Vaati was using the wind to unwrap it. Did he consider things like hands beneath him? Anyway... "Like you though, he hit a big of a snag. Remember the little kid that beat you up? Twice? Well, they were both different incarnations, but you get my point."
The shade dramatically pointed to the black sword. He was having way too much fun with this. He had to admit, there were just times that he had to cut loose and overact a bit. "He was beaten by that little guy's first incarnation. The very first one in green. The only difference is that unlike you, it took an adult to beat him." He seemed to know some pretty sensitive stuff. Stuff that most people really shouldn't know. So what the hell was going on here anyway?
Well, a hundred years of boredom tended to make a man do anything to pass the time.
"He's pretty powerful, though time and being beat up by the very first Hero has taken its toll, he's been weakened. Still! He should be willing to help you as he'll probably find you adorable. Can't say for sure." The shade shrugged. "I'd ah... get a regular sword as well though. Like I said, he's got a mind of his own, so he might wander off from time to time. Plus there's the fact you can't swing him around if he's in his humanoid form." He figured he'd remind the Wind Mage, at least to keep him from losing his temper when the guy eventually started doing whatever the hell he wanted. Plus there was the idea of having someone to increase your numbers.
The shade crossed his arms though, he had one last warning. "Oh and I'd uh... be careful around him. He won't betray you or anything, I can guarantee that, it's just that he err..." Dark Link started to try and convey it properly. "You know what, you'll find out on your own." He waved his hand in a dismissive manner. [/blockquote]
