APPEARANCE,Yuji wears a black, high-collared jacket with a zipper resembling a Nobody symbol. Over this, he wears another jacket, this one unzipped and white, with several black block designs and a grey hem on the end of each sleeve. This jacket's collar is red and pleated and folded back.
Yuji also wears two-colored pants; the legs of his pants were beige with several of what looked like buttons on the hem that appeared to attach the legs to the rest of the cloth, which were dark-colored. Ruka's shoes are colored in shades of grey and black, and had red straps in place of laces. Finally, Yuji wears a guantlet with a black-and-white checkerboard pattern on his left wrist, as well as a plain black ring on his left index finger and a plain white ring on his left middle finger.
WEAPONS,
Yuji has a unusual blade, it looks like a gun fused with a blade. He calls it a gunblade, the gunblade by his definition is a sword with a fire mechanism, such as a pistol, which serves as the hilt for the blade. Despite the name he gave it, it cannot not be used as an actual gun, meaning it doesn't fire projectiles, and can therefore only be used in melee combat, making it more like a gun supplementing a sword than a blade supplementing a firearm, e.g. a bayonet on a rifle. The firing of the gunblade's rounds induces a tremor in the blade, causing it to deal additional damage to whatever it strikes.

HISTORY,
Yuji's past is something he doesn't like to talk about. He grew up in a small town on an island not to far from the outlying islands. His father was a fisherman and his mother was a teacher. at age ten he lost both his parents to a horrible fire and was taken in by his childhood friend who had protected him since she was six and secretly had a crush on him, but due to his obliviousness towards women he never knew. When he turned eleven he learned how to use a sword from a traveling swordswoman who drifted to their town after her boat was destroyed due to a storm. At first she turned him down because she didn't take on students, but eventually he wore her down and she agreed to train him. It was the same swordswoman who gave him the gunblade and taught him how to handle it.
over the next five years of his life He grew closer to his master than anyone else in the town, she was like a mother to him (as you could probably tell this made his friend very jelous). He was devastated when she left without saying anything. The only thing she left him was a note saying "If you need me, find me." At age sixteen he was swept away from the island by a huge storm that hit and was found by the sky pirates only days later with only the clothes on his back, the sword his master gave him and his friend's locket.
