Gavin enjoyed flying. He was good at it, and it made him feel free. Today, however, he was walking. Having recently swept the surrounding area of Kakariko for monsters, he was heading back to Lanayru.
He was simply walking down the path when a couple of moblins came out from a bush and began to threaten Gavin with grunts and clubs. gavin simply smiled and drew his longsword. The two moblins charged him and one by one Gavin dodged their club strikes and ran his sword through each of them with authority. It was a flashy display, he was a man of power and his sword strikes showed it.
With two moblins now down, he took a cloth and took the time to wipe his sword down.

As if to accompany the motion, a wild shout echoed in the forests, as suddenly, the unconscious body of a third moblin tumbled out from the leafy depths, rolling on to the path before the winged man.
"Geh!" The same voice continued to shout, and out of nowhere, a blond-haired man poked out from the same bush, scratching his head with narrowed eyes as he seemed to gaze at the ground.
"Moblins here, moblins there, moblins fucking everywhere." He barked sullenly, now turning his head to look at the moblin that had been downed. "What's this?" The Poe blinked slowly, from under his hood. Despite appearing as though he had been in a fight, it would seem his weapons remained unsheathed and unused. "Multiplied, did they? As if it'd help now." He stared, giving an incredibly bored-sounding laugh as he contemplated the source of the other two, until he finally noticed the other man, now wiping down a blade.
A slow silence fell over the lighter-haired man, as if he was expecting the latter to start something first.
". . . So I see you've had your fun as well." He finally spoke after an estranged moment's passing. |

As Gavin was wiping off his blade a rustle in the bush again caused him to spring to attention and bring his blade to ready, but instead of jumping out another moblin rolled out, followed by a blonde...boy. He appeared harmless enough and finished wiping his blade, putting the cloth away and she sheating his sword, arms folded.
"Yeah. They tried to gang up on me. Wasn't much of a challenge really. They need to be riding boars to make it interesting." He rolled his eyes, clearly not impressed with this battle.
"And yourself? What is a young man like you doing hiding in a bush? Waiting for a helpless passerby?" It wasn't an outright accusation, as it was said in jest. But the possibility was certain, though he didn't look it. Too calm and not nearly desperate-looking enough to be a bandit, though looks could be deceiving.

A curious gaze watched carefully as the new encounter sheathed his weapon, which called for the ever so slight raising of his brow. There were a great deal of things he would have expected as a reaction from his popping out from a bush at random, and putting weapons away was not one of them. But ah, he supposed it didn't matter, as he wasn't hunting for a fight in the first place. Not to mention that he apparently had a knack for disarming people.
"Hah!" The Poe proceeded to scoff, eventually deciding now would be a good time to step out from the bushes, shaking off any loose leaves as he did so. "As if helpless passerby are worth my time." As he spoke, he looked towards the pile of moblins, as if there was something interesting to see.
"I just happened to stumble upon their happy little camp, and they bolted." Half of his arms crossed, he brought a hand up to his chin in thought, shaking his head with a sigh, his following murmurs spoken more to himself than his companion. "A shame, too. They left a perfectly good meal roasting over their nice little fire. Perhaps I should go finish it for them on their behalf . . ." |

"Hmm"
The boy certainly wasn't lacking in confidence. Gavin wasn't one to stroke his own ego, nor was he one to stroke others. Perhaps his jest was misplaced.
"Perhaps you can pick the bare bones off of a moblin camp. Though I wouldn't recommend, their camps and especially their food are typically downright nasty. So perfectly good meal may be the wrong term." Awful meal might be more appropriate.
"Regardless, what you do with a moblin camp is none of my business. You want to eat that garbage they call meat go right ahead." His arms remained folded and his gaze uncaring as he seemed to scoff a bit himself.

Though he did seem to consider an unusual act, he held himself with a sternly powerful demeanor, finally taking the time to fully redirect his emerald gaze to the latter as he spoke.
"Absurdity!" He barked vehemently, though he kept his voice level. "Bad food or good food, it is an absolute waste to leave it unconsumed!" His eyes narrowed. To think there would ever be an argument over an unappealing meal. He was far from poor, mind you, and while he could agree that it was not first class, it wasn't entirely inedible.
"Shit," He muttered for whatever reason, turning his head away. "But as you say, it concerns you not." As he spoke, the rising irritation appeared to fade with the blatant subject change. He doubted anyone would be able to grasp the strange ideas swimming through his head. Therefore, he wouldn't expect them to. "The sky is nice," He continued to sigh, and flicked a wrist with a pointing finger, in order to casually indicate towards Gavin's winged figure.
"I used to fly as well, you know. Certainly a miraculous thing." To be fair, he still could fly, just not on his own. There was a major difference. |

Gavin looked odd the man, now with a tilted head. The fold of arms loosened slightly just in case. He was acting with a very strange demeanor. One must be cautious when dealing with the strange, after all.
"I suppose that you are correct. Go right ahead."
The man also mentioned his previous ability to fly. He didn't seem to have any capabilities of doing so, no wings, either ooccan, fairy, or otherwise. Not even stumps to suggest that his wings had been previously clipped or torn.
"Tell me, how does one with no wings fly? You don't have any wings at all, for if you did they could be clipped or torn, and if they were removed, you would still have at least stumps remaining." The idea was an odd one, but then again, odd seemed to fit this one like a glove.
[OOC: So? I don't either. Just roll with it.]

Naturally, his recent comments would have sparked an interest in his conversation partner. He was a man who claimed to fly, with no evidence that he could. At least, not evidence anymore.
"Ieh, non, non." He shook his head dismissively, waving his unoccupied back and forth in the process. "One such as myself can't possibly meander about with disfigurations of the sort." He had no particular image to uphold, but wasn't it merely human nature to appear as a perfect being?
Slowly, his head turned back to face the older man, and there was the bitterest of smiles upon his face. It was far from a threat, but more like a melancholic cursing, strangely fitting with his ominous words. "On the contrary, I'd say they were offed quite cleanly." |
ooc. good 'nuff.

How sad. The boy lost his wings. It was unfortunate, it was a trademark of the society after all.
"My condolences, must have been painful, even if it was clean." Gavin was becoming increasingly uncomfortable, while his sword could keep him comforted in battle, this one was too much of an oddball. His wings spread out and he sighed.
"I have to get going, this was a nice, albeit brief conversation. Good luck in your future endeavors." With that, he took to the sky and was off, headed back towards Lanayru province.

It was pretty clear there was an unusual tension between the two, in which the Poe could not blame him for. He had his quirks, which he really did not like, but there wasn't much he could do about them at this point. It was like a bystander effect for himself. Observing was all he could do as he performed these ridiculous mannerisms without much care.
"Suppose you're right," He released a sigh, not disappointed nor discontent. He would rather not be around when the unconscious moblin awoke to its slain brethren.
So with that, he witnessed the oocca fly away, his eyes following the feathered man until he vanished, and he was now alone. "Hmmph," Turning on his heels, he looked back to the trees from whence he had emerged, contemplating the return excavation of the moblin camp. There was always the possibility of finding more than dry meat. "It's a bit late for good lucks." He commented, carving a road into the foliage, the brush erasing his path entirely as he left. |
