She really had to wonder why she was here.
Growing up, Lazuli felt a tremendous longing to visit the realm of light. She enjoyed hearing the stories about the better aspects of it. When her fellow Twili were not badmouthing the Hylians for banishing their ancestors, the stories were wonderful. Hyrule sounded like a beautiful place just from the stories. Lazuli had grown up with dusky skies, light from an unknown source... But in Hyrule, there was something called sunlight.
And boy, did it hurt.
From the stories, Hyrule sounded wonderful. From experience, Hyrule was not growing on her, much to her disappointment. The first days of her arrival were spent just wandering, wondering where to go. Of course, most of her wandering was limited. She found out the hard way that the light of this world burned and scalded her skin. There were a few burn marks upon her arms even now. The sun had set on the realm of light, but it's effects still stayed with the Twili.
She shivered, but not because she was cold. She was lonely, scared, and above all, saddened that the light realm she had longed for many years to see... was not all that it was chalked up to be.
Lazuli stared solemnly at her reflection in the water's surface. This lake was a lot clearer than the one in the Twilight Realm, but it was not as comforting. These were strange shores, strange tides. It was lonely. Lazuli tenderly ran her hands up her arms, comforting them from the pain she felt.
"I want to go home..." she whimpered into her arms. The quiet night was filled with the sound of quiet sobs.

There was, however, a difference in believing in just the pros of those said stories, and neglecting see the cons. We make mistakes, and as such, we grow from those errors. Whether we want to admit to them or not. Still, it was a shame how cruel fate tends to be, and the innocent did get hurt for no reason at times. As ruler of the Twilight Realm, she too was told the tales of this world, and wandered what it would be like to one day visit it.
Now that she was here, her curiosity had been quenched, and she felt any form of attachment towards this diverse world erode from her being. It was more like an indifference. Just a place she so happened to be in now, but soon enough it will all change. It was all a matter of time.
Still, tuning back to the present, she was quite surprised to see a twili out here. Her carmine eyes flickered with concern as she saw Lazuli huddled like a stray animal who longs for solace, and warmth. Quietly so she wouldn't startle the poor dear, Midna approached her slowly, picking up the soft crying as it stabbed into her frame. A soften gaze looked over to Lazuli as she placed her hand gently on her shoulder.
"A pretty little thing like you shouldn't be shedding tears." As she spoke words of concern, and comfort, she noticed the harsh rays of the sun marring the girl's skin. Judging from her appearance, she hasn't been in this realm long, but it was long enough. She must have been through a lot.[/style] |
