Well, no sense in putting it off any further than it needed to be. Caramon had broken the law and was now in jail, and Merik was soon to join him. Hopefully the news hadn't reached Merik yet, but Ryan wouldn't be surprised if it had. The King of the Gerudo and the Grandmaster of the Hybrids were pirates, criminals who broke the law with little to no regard for the consequences. It was time to put a stop to this, and for that he needed to launch a full assault on the Gerudo King. However in order to do so, he would first need the blessing of Princess Zelda.
This was why he had called this meeting to order. To inform her of the situation and to request assistance in brining a criminal to justice. Ryan had no qualms with the Gerudo themselves, in fact he almost pitied them. They had a history of bad leaders, from Ganondorf in the ancient past to Merik Dragmire now. Ryan considered the Gerudo to be distant cousins of humans (from an evolutionary standpoint), and would honestly welcome the chance to govern and guide them in to a better future like he did did with this own humans.
But that was neither here nor there. Right now, in the Princesses privet audience chambers, they had other, more pressing issues to attend to.

She knew what the Champion wanted, of course. When other leaders came calling on serious matters, she allowed exceptions to her general rule of no invasive mind-reading, if only because people tended to hide their true intentions. She trusted Ryan von Green, of that there was no doubt, but Zelda felt it necessary to verify whatever he had to say. So, when the human walked into the chambers where she held private meetings, she was already shaking her head.
"No," she said, her voice soft but firm, completely unyielding. "I agree that it is necessary for King Merik to be arrested, but this will be handled properly and with as little bloodshed as possible. I cannot allow you to lead an attack on him."
It was a huge mistake, she knew, and in more ways than one. It was likely that an attack could very well be necessary; she had never known Merik to be the type to calmly accept arrest, and she was honestly surprised that his second-in-command had been so complacent with both the arrest and in giving information during the arrest. Still, she would not allow an initial attack on the Gerudo King, nor could she allow Ryan to lead the Gerudo in his stead. He was not a Gerudo, and could not accurately speak for them, not to mention that she found it highly unlikely that the Gerudo would accept a human monarch. No, this was not the way to handle things at all. Zelda simply had to put her foot down.
"If you can propose an alternate way to go about the arrest of King Merik Dragmire than what I have in mind, then I will gladly hear it. But I simply cannot allow an unprovoked attack on him without any warning."

"Firstly, its hardly an unprovoked attack. We have proof that he's been raiding your shipping lines for years. That is tantamount to an act of war on the Hylian people, a retaliatory strike to bring a criminal to justice, a criminal who is also abusing his power as the leader of an entire race of people, who also have a long history of subjugation by their own leaders, is entirely justified." Was his flat reply. He respected Zelda, but sometimes her compassion got the best of her. As one of the few leaders who had dealt with war on a first hand basis, he knew that compassion would get you killed. They needed to deal with the cold hard facts of the situation, nothing more, nothing less. Anything beyond that was simply wishful thinking, no matter how much Zelda, or even Ryan for that matter, wished it to be true.
"Unfortunately we don't have much of a choice, Merik isn't one to surrender regardless of what we do. If you send him a formal command to give himself up, he'll likely just box himself in his fortress, making us come after him in a long and bloody siege." This was largely speculation, but it was the logical thing to do. Force Zelda to waste time and manpower on a siege in a hostile environment where the enemy held all the advantage. "If you want to arrest him with minimal bloodshed, the best way to go about it is with a small, surgical strike team who would take Merik completely by surprise, escort him to a court of law and let the judges prosecute him. In order to prevent a revolt by the Gerudo people you would need to install a puppet leadership until the trial is over, whereupon the Gerudo would have to elect a new leader among for themselves." Above all, Ryan wanted the Gerudo to no longer be abused by their leaders. He considered them to be a distant cousin to humans, and would gladly take them under his wing to protect and help them if he could. But either way so long as the Gerudo were no longer being taken advantage of, he was fine.
