On EE we use slots to determine how many magical abilities, magical items or magical weapons our characters have. You start out with two Magic Slots (or MS for short) and whatever racial ability you have. These slots can be spent on magical abilities, magical items or magical weapons, which can all be upgraded using a Magic Upgrade (MU, if you‘re short on time) which are explained closer in the shop.
