Seayn was casually relaxing at a diner than he knew of in Castle Town. The young knight had decided to leave his armor at home today, although he had brought Excalipur just to make himself look as if he was ready for anything. He wore a red tunic with a pair of black pants. His hair was casually blowing in the breeze as he kept his eyes towards the sky. He had decided to take a seat outside as it was a fairly nice day. It was mildly cold yet he felt that it was refreshing. He didn't pay attention to his surroundings, seemingly fazed out as he stared at the sky. His dark leather boots were on the table in front of him, his seat pushed back far enough that he didn't have to lean it backwards. The sun was nearing its apex, starting to get annoying in his eyes. Seayn grunted, his head falling back down so that he could observe the nearby area.
The young knight didn't see many people around, supposing that they were at their jobs or busy with other things than waiting at a diner for someone else. He began to examine his fingernails, the picture of casual leisure. His eyes were partially lidded, an obvious sign that he was bored with whatever he was doing. Every now and again, he glanced towards the serving maids, as if waiting for an order of food to come. His belt was off, hanging on the back of his chair. It would make it decently easy for anyone to pull Excalipur out of its sheath without the belt yet Seayn didn't seem worried about that at all.

Entering the diner where they had agreed to meet, Ryan looked around for Seayn. he didn't know the young Warden all that well, and Ryan was hoping to fix this with a quick get-together. It was perhaps not the most professional way to get to know someone who you were supposed to fight with against the enemies of humanity, but Ryan felt that it was best to start casual, and then work your way in to more and more professional attitudes if the situation warranted it.
Spotting the young Knight, Ryan made his way over to Seayn, sitting down at the table and nodding hello to the man. "Apologies for my tardiness, got held up in traffic." It was a busy time if the year, and even though automobiles hadn't been invented, the streets were crowded with vendors and shoppers all looking to buy that gift for their special someone. All those people were hard to get through, thus resulting in his lateness. Thankfully it was only by a few minuets, but still.

Seayn found it easy to spot the incredibly tall Champion. The man's height was the only easily identifiable feature, except perhaps the slight glaze over one of his eyes that indicated that it wasn't in full use. The young knight removed his feet from the table, sitting up into a straighter posture that wouldn't make him seem so unprepared. Seayn shook his head, "It's no problem, sir. I'm sure you got her as quickly as you could." The young man examined his superior, trying to sum him up for combative purposes. He scratched his nose for a moment.
"Well, what would you like, sir?" The young knight tilted his head as he watched Ryan, not quite sure what the other man might want. Seayn didn't quite know him which made him a bit wary of what he might want. He clasped his hands together, crossed his legs, and rested his hands on his lap as he carefully watched the man that sat across from himself.

Ryan raised an eyebrow at the repeated use of the term "sir". He had intended this to be an informal meeting of the minds, a chance for Warden and Champion to get to know one another as brothers in arms and hopefully friends. But he supposed if Seayn wanted to keep this brief and by the book Ryan would simply make a note of the man's preferred method of conversation and adapt as needed.
"I would like to know you better, Seayn. You are one of my Wardens, one of the men whom I trust to watch over mankind, against the threats that would harm us or our way of life. I would like to know why you applied to be one of my Wardens, and what you intend to do with that title and authority, and if you think you have the skills to live up to the responsibilities." Straight, simple, to the point and professional. Hopefully things would go smoothly and they could get back to their day to day affairs.

Seayn listened to the other man, not sure how to answer. He simply mulled over his thoughts for a moment, his eyes searching his superior's face as he thought. He didn't seem to be very formal, although that wasn't very surprising. As far as he knew this Human Champion was a commoner, untrained in the ways of courtesy and such. He had probably been trained in the basics but it wasn't something that came over night. The human leaned forward in his chair, finishing off his scrutiny with a few intense moments. "First, I would like to say thank you for the opportunity you have provided me with. I hadn't imagined being able to take such an active hand but you have allowed me to. I have a formal education, with blade and books, I am young and strong, and I'm willing to be active and help."
Seayn glanced down at his fingers for a moment as he fiddled with his index finger's nail. I plan upon furthering human influence, helping humans, forge alliances, and hopefully help every living being in Hyrule in some way or another."" The young knight brought his, now, blank face up again to stare at Ryan. "As for my other skills, I doubt there are very man people in all of Hyrule that have the ability to kill me, although I might say that I'm not the most offensive person in a fight." The knight shrugged, waiting for the Champion's reply.
OOC: Sorry that this took so long, work is being a jerk before Christmas.

Ryan nodded at Seayn's thanks, approving of the mans professionalism. While he could be professional himself, and has more than one occasion where professionalism was required to keep things sane, Ryan preferred informality when he could. "Its good to hear someone happy to advance the cause of humanity. I was worried for a moment that I would be getting someone who only wanted the position for the prestige attached to it, but you seem genuinely earnest."
It was a sad lot in life that if there was a position of power available, then it was likely going to be filled with the least capable and most idiotic of individuals. Thankfully Ryan had been very lucky to have a Warden who knew what they were doing, and was actually dedicated to the cause. "Tell me, why focus on defense? Doesn't that leave your options limited?
OOC No prob dude, take your time with your holiday stuffs~

Seayn looked up towards the sky again for a moment. He shrugged before turning his head to look at his employer again. "I guess it goes without saying that it's a noble cause. I'm pretty sure that I could afford prestige other ways, if I really needed to but I'm not motivated in that direction." The knight took a moment to ponder the possible ways of advancing from his current position. The only thing that he could think of was perhaps marrying Princess Zelda, a proposition that he had no doubt would not pass. He couldn't even remember the last time she had someone court her and Seayn doubted she would change her mind for him. The young man chuckled at his own thought process before turning his attention to the matter at hand.
The Warden pondered the question for a moment, obviously thinking it over before he spoke. "I... Well, I'd rather not see others die. I would also rather not die. Most people forego defense in favor of more offensive approaches. You know the spiel, the best defense is a good offense. I disagree. I doubt very man people in Hyrule would be able to lay me low." Seayn said, not wanting to sound boastful or overly confident but he didn't know any other way to word it. If someone came at him, it was unlikely that they would do any lasting damage.

"Thats an honest answer, I can respect that. A lot of people have the skills needed to attain some kind of fame or another, but few actually try to make others lives better while they do so." Ryan honestly respected the person who would fight for a nobel cause, so long as they weren't stupid about it. Seayn did not strike Ryan as a stupid man, not in the least, so he was glad to see him dedicating himself towards the good of others.
His explanation for his defensive strategy however worried Ryan. While was certainly true that focusing purely on offense tended to be the norm among warriors these days, he still felt that a wholly defensives alternative was too limited. However, if it worked for Seayn, he wasn't about to make an issue out of it. "Understandable, I don't like seeing my allies die any more than the next honest person. Its good to know that we have someone like you in the ranks to watch our collective backs." He leaned back in the chair, thinking over the last few minuets of conversation. "I think thats everything I wanted to know, unless you had some questions for me?"
OOC This seems to be a good place to end it. Ryan has gotten to know one of his Wardens better, and Syean has gotten (I hope) a better picture of the man he'll be serving under. I'm happy to call the quits here if you are.

Seayn listened attentively to Ryan for a moment, keeping his eyes focused on the other man's. It would be rude to give any appearance of not listening to what the other man was saying. He tapped his chin for a moment before standing. "I promise that your life will be in better hands than me than it will be with most squads of soldiers." He crossed his arms over his chest, examining this human for a minute. He looked around the area, his eyes locking on the waitress for a moment as he stood there thinking.
"I'll leave my questions for another time. I'm sure I'll get a gauge of you from what I see. I don't exactly envy your position, at the top, where everyone can see you so easily." Seayn didn't think many would approve of his opinions. The young man nodded at Ryan. "Well, if that concludes our meeting, I must be off." He waited for his superior to respond, waiting patiently.

"I'll take you at your word then, you seem to be good for it Seayn." Was Ryans reply. It was good to know that ones subordinate had confidence in their skills, although whether that trust was founded or not would be determined sooner or later. Despite it being peacetimes, there was always some kind of conflict that would break out for one reason or another. Hyrule seemed destined to be a place of eternal conflict in that regard. Heck, even the own legends were full of war and violence.
He laughed at the comment aimed at his position "I'll be honest, it's not always a walk in the park like some people would think it would be. But I figure if I keep my head down to the grindstone and just do my job, I wont be able to give too many people a reason to complain about me." Standing up, he extended his hand towards the younger man. "It was good to meet you Seayn, I expect good things from you in the future." He said with a smile, before nodding to the man politely and moving to depart.
