This was Guren's first assignment since the Monsters had 'encouraged' the Stalfos to begin work. Unlike tektites which inhabited the mountain, leaping from area to area - the Stalfos were more confined to dungeons. Stal-children still roamed the mountain during the night as the fallen bodies of adventurers who had perished atop the dangerous mountain moved around. However, they burned up everyday with the sunrise.
Guren specifically was assigned to a small Mini-dungeon with some minor treasure hidden within. The skeletal soldier didn't even know what the treasure chest he was protecting contained within. The chest, by some magical spell was completely devoid of substance and would continue to be so until some adventurer came to claim the chest and bested Guren in combat as the treasure's assigned keeper.
The only question left now was what quality of adventurer would come through the metal door. If some new adventurer attempted to claim Guren's artifact, then he may be able to best the adventurer adding to the numbers (poe, re-dead or stalfos) as the adventurer's corpse could also be reanimated to serve the undead monster army. In the meantime, there would be a lot of waiting.
The anxiety of awaiting an adventurer seeking treasure would eventually fade from the Stalfos and it had only been a few minutes of waiting. Patience was not the skeletal knight's strong suit, what could he say. The room itself was rather plain. A large circular dome-like structure. The perfect locale for a one-on-one combat scenario. No rings of flame would erupt from the ground, no annoying spikes circling the room in addition to the skeletal warrior. Just one undead skeletal soldier defending his treasure from the would-be adventurer.
((I hope that's okay, this is the first time I'm playing this kind of character. >>; It'll take some getting used to))
