It started out as a simple desire to satiate his curiousity. For all of the time he's lived in the big city, he's never really taken the time to actually get to know what kind of events happen, and wouldn't you have it he learned about this festival just in time. Jaden wanted to see what the commotion was about. He even got himself all dressed up for the holiday as well, sporting a dark blue yukata, and a pair of sandals. He only brought the essentials needed for tonight, things like his wallet, an eastern-themed mask, etc; he might as well try and make the most of it.
When he got to the festival, he felt his stomach churn slightly, not at all pleased with how crowded it was. He never really got along with people, and the last place he probably should be hanging out is a clusterfuck of people together for some holiday event. Not that it would matter now that he was there so he had to bite the bullet, and continue where he left off.
Suddenly, something caught his sense of smell, and by gods, did it smell heavenly. Jaden found a plus about being at a festival, and that happened to be the type of food that was served there~ There was a soft sound of eager footsteps coming from his sandals as he followed his nose to wherever the delectable aroma was coming from. His destination took him to one of the confectionery stands that sold cotton candy. He stared carefully at the vendor for a moment or two realizing that seller only had one cotton candy on a stick left.
It looked like the seller was trying to gather more sugar to remake some more but was having a difficult time resupplying. It would seem that this was his one chance before it was all gone. Now or never!

Cassie adored the festival that happened yearly for all of Hyrule to enjoy. The games, the food, and the chance to just relax and enjoy herself. Where everyone could gather and forget about silly fights and old grudges. The young woman also had quite the craving for sweets whenever this time of year approached. So many delicious sweets were for sale, and Cassie found herself enjoying the taste of either cotton candy or funnel cakes. The soft, sweet bread dusted heavily with powdered sugar, or the delicately spun sugar that resembled pink and blue clouds. Already she had herself searching out for a stand that sold the treats. With everyone already having a treat in hand, Cassie was quickly walking through the crowd to search for her target. So many scents to go through, but she was able to follow the one that teased her senses in a cloying manner. Blue eyes glittered with her excitement, and Cassie nearly skipped after where her senses were leading her.
Of course, it was a little hard to skip in a yukata, but she loved dressing up sometimes. Even if she was a tomboy most of the time, she could appreciate appearing soft and feminine. The color was a soft lavender, cinched together by a blue obi. A amethyst brooch was placed on the front of the obi, adding a more feminine touch. Slowing her pace, Cassie brightened when she singled in upon a stand that had one more stick of cotton candy. She did not notice any other presence nearby, and soon she stood before the stand owner with a bright smile upon her lips. There was little doubt that she appeared like an eager little girl, but what did it matter~? "Oh, could I please buy that last stick of cotton candy?" she asked with a sweet smile in place.
An exchange of a rupee, and Cassie soon had her treat in hand. She thanked the vendor brightly, and turned to venture around the festival a little more. Taking a small bite of the sweet treat, the sugar melted in her mouth deliciously. Honestly, it was a shame that this treat was only available once a season. Hopefully the vendor would be able to make more of the cotton candy soon enough, because it really would be a shame if she had gotten the last piece for the entire day. Taking another small bite, she licked her lips to savor the sugary flavor all the more. Yes, she was very lucky to have bought the last one~!

There was a little buzzing going on in the back of Jaden's mind. It was similar to the noise you would refer to as white noise grinding against your ear drums from the amount of annoyance that boiled up in his system. See? This is exactly why he shouldn't have come to the stupid festival. It was filled with turn of events that only got on his nerves! There was always some sort of opposition in his way that he had to trudge painstakingly through before he saw the day he got what he wanted.
Karma had a nasty way of rearing it's ugly mug in the worst case scenarios. He watched as out of nowhere a woman came up right in front of him, and ordered the last stick of cotton candy right before his very eyes. This isn't happening. Are you fuckin' serious? The broad comes in now of all times to make a move on his sweet treat?
Oh, hell no!
Any normal person would have sighed their defeat, and go on to another stand selling carnival food. Sure, it was inconvenient but it surely wasn't the only cotton candy stand in the festival. What annoyed Jaden the most was the fact that it was this woman chose the very same stand he did. His thick arrogance would not tolerate defeat whatsoever, and with that in mind...
"Hey, I was about to buy that," he shot icy daggers at the woman. He confronted her face to face not letting this go. No sir~ By the end of the night, Jaden would make sure at even just a portion of her night would be ruined. Something as punishment for making his night even more miserable.

Why Cassandra have the sudden inkling that someone was now out for her blood? It was an instinct that had saved her many times in the past, and had allowed her to escape a harrowing situation before anything could happen. She had to be careful in many cases, since many did not look too kindly upon the Ainur. Such a shame, but Cassie had such an easy time passing as a human, so no one knew the difference~! Back to her more pressing matters, because she was beginning a mental countdown to when this threat would make itself known to her. Why could she not have just one day of peace? It was either spent dealing with her annoying twin of a brother, or dodging threats that would enjoy seeing her dead. Seriously, what had she ever done to deserve being hunted down occasionally? Exist? Oh, wow, her temper was rising without her own accord, and that was never a good thing.
Cassie stopped herself very short of colliding into the suddenly appearing human male before her. Blue eyes widened owlishly, blinking up slowly at the male that was currently glaring her into an early grave. This was what had raised her instincts? She was a kind woman by nature, and would have happily shared the treat with him had he asked her politely. Instead, now she was dealing with a clearly vengeful male that was acting like a child! There was also the fact he was very near her face, and Cassie hated being pushed around by people that thought they had the right to. Her own eyes narrowed, and she glared right back up at him, placing a free hand upon her hip for added effect.
"Then ask like a polite human being, and not like an ass!" she responded icily. Okay, Cassie could be childish in her own way as well. Growing up with an insufferable twin had made her that way, and so she immaturely took a large bite of the sugary treat. The sweetness did nothing to dim her temper, and she licked her lips idly. If this man wanted a fight, then Cassie would be very happy to return the favor, and so she took another two bites. Her blue stained lips curled into an overly fake, sweet smile. Batting her lashes innocently at him, she relished that this would no doubt raise his temper more. Hah! He could take that and be more miserable!
