Bright transparent red fairy wings expanded out as the carrier of those wings perched herself on top of one of the dilapidated walls. How long has these ruins been here exactly? You'd think with after all of these years gone by it would have crumbled completely by now. Brushing her flippant thoughts out the window, Aya stared out into space for a moment or two, trying to take away her troubled thoughts off of the recent departure of the Sacred Grove.
The Crossfire fairies expected the young redhead of the family to leave eventually, but when Ani decided to join her, it stirred up quite a bit of fuss. Bitter words were spoken behind her back like how the crimson fairy's influence poisoned the baby of the family. If they only knew~
She grinned. Her firelight eyes turning over to her sister. While she didn't like that Ani wanted to come with her, Aya was well aware that when Ani made up her mind, it was quite difficult to convince her otherwise. "You sure you want to tag along with me, sis?" she inquired, "If you go back, you'd be welcome with open arms, you know~"
No, she wasn't trying to get rid of her sister, she was only reaffirming Delanie's wish to stay with her. It was probably going to be tough when they make it out of the forest, and into Hyrule itself. Although she wouldn't openly admit to it she was quite glad that Ani stayed with her. It meant she didn't have to face the world alone as it was, but that didn't mean she should lax on being the big sister of the group. It didn't help matters that the redhead was very doting on her twin so she had to be extra cautious to make sure she doesn't get hurt along the way.
She knew the answer, but it was still nice to hear what she had to say~

Ani was quite excited about this prospect of traveling to the most remote corners of Hyrule, and seeing so many more sights than just the forests of the Sacred Grove. Yes, the verdant trees and grass were a beautiful view to behold, but the young girl yearned for more than comfort and familiarity among family. The same tedium and routine that went with living with her family. Oh, Ani loved her sisters and parents very much, but none of them could ever compare to the bound she had with her twin. When Aya had shouted her objective to leave their home, Ani had only been all too happy to voice her intent to join her. How could she ever leave Aya's side? They had been together since birth, and there was certainly no way her twin would be leaving the Grove without her. There was also the chance of adventure and fun! Her slender frame nearly quivered with the excitement the thought along brought. Leaving had been easier than she had thought, and she could not regret the chance of journeying with Aya and experiencing all the world had to offer.
Carmine eyes flickered to her sister, her own white wings folding behind her as she settled beside Aya. It was rather wondering to see how different they appeared, but still looked quite alike. While her hair was the shade of fallen snow, the two held very similar faces, and rather similar temperaments as well. Smiling sweetly at her sister, Ani reached forward to take Aya's hands within her own. "Silly Aya, you already know the answer to that question. My place is with you, and nothing in all the world could ever change that. Not even you," she answered with a cheeky giggle of her own. No, she knew that her twin was merely seeking reassurance, and that she liked hearing that Ani was on her side. Nothing could ever part her from her loving sister, and she pitied those that even attempted to force themselves between the two.
Ani leaned closer toward Aya, personal space long used to being invaded by her. "We shall adventure all over Hyrule, and become the most infamous fairies in all the land! Think of all the fun we can have, the adventure, and all the treasure just waiting to be found and taken," she exclaimed with an excited exhale of breath. A certain dreamy quality had colored her voice, her eyes sparkling at the prospect of her words. She had always had a penchant for anything shiny, and it was not unknown for her to make small thefts of her older sisters' more valuable belongings. Of course, no one had really looked at her as the suspect, and many thought the trinkets had simply gone missing. Yes, the two of them would have such an adventure to remember, and meet so many interesting people along the way.

The mission wasn't hard, but he didn't expect it would take him into the heart of Faron. All he had to do was infiltrate the Ruined Temple, gather a special type of mineral and return back to Ordon Village. Deep crimson eyes peered up, jumping up from one branch to another, traveling across the foliage eager to finish up work. Business wasn't exactly booming, but there was always someone looking out for a body-for-hire. Rey needed the money to keep supplying his traveling needs not wanting to stop now when he's been active in his adventures.
Ever was he thankful for his sheikah heritage more than ever finding the travel across the province to be quicker than normal. The wind brushing through his indigo locks tailed behind him. It wouldn't be long before the ruins came to sight as he jumped out of the top of the trees, and landed gracefully onto the overgrown floor of what used to be a grand temple. He stayed in place for a brief moment or two to scan the area - however - oblivious of the two fairies that were on top of the ruined walls. Nodding his head, he took off like a bullet, and began his excavation for the item in need.
Limestone was apparently very popular decorative material to have however it could only be obtained around these parts. Rey wasn't exactly sure why someone would want those stones in their front yard, but to each their own taste. It was buying him a room to stay, and food for his stomach later on so it had to be worth something. So the mission bound sheikah began his search.

Aya looked back at her twin sister, giving her a smile that helped the crimson fairy light up, and ensure her that she wouldn't be alone. With Ani's gentle hands taking the redhead's, there was comfort in her words. She couldn't help but join her in the laughter knowing it was all too true. So long as they were in it together then she supposed there was nothing for them to be worried about. It brought relief on the redhead's part hearing that Ani was willing to be with her on this new found adventure. The fire fairy was more than happy to know that no matter how many times she had to be reminded, Ani would still prevail as her voice of reasoning.
She quirked at the lack of personal space, but paid no heed to the worries some might find intrusive but Aya had already long gotten used to it. Her own smile curved slightly, turning into one filled with mischief, and devious intent. Now that was the kind of things she liked to hear. While she too was excited for what laid ahead of them as far as the adventures they would soon have, she couldn't help but notice how much the whole deal meant to Ani as well. The snow haired twin had an infamous streak of becoming infatuated with anything that glittered in the light~
She couldn't remember the count on how many times she noticed a few things gone missing in her room while growing up. Each time she would have to confront the little thief to get them back~ Aya still adored her sister no matter what though - even if she had a minor case of sticky fingers. There was one thing for sure she knew about their new lifestyle, and that was it certainly wouldn't be mundane.
Speaking of which, it would appear that things were looking up for the mischievous fairy twins. Appearing from out of the thickets of the forest came a lone male, who seemingly didn't pick up the fact that the Crossfires were around. She turned her attention back over to Delanie, and placed her index finger in front of her lips. She wanted to keep quiet so he didn't notice them. Why? Well, it was quite simple actually~ It was time to have a little fun with the vagabond who appeared unaware of his surroundings. When he took off, her crimson eyes flickered with mischief on the mind. "You thinking what I'm thinking?" she asked her sister coyly.
Let the games begin~

Ani was quite happy that her words had soothed away any lingering doubts her twin held. Despite her brazen and headstrong ways, she knew the constant pressures and biting remarks her family uttered had taken a long toll upon Aya. It was so unfair that she had not been accepted for who she was, and that Ani had been treated so much better. Did they not notice her thieving and conniving ways? It really was not all because of the influence of Aya, but because she enjoyed the small rush of taking something for herself. Her twin needed someone that was on her side, and that loved her no matter what she chose to be. Their other sisters and parents could never understand her twin like she could. That was the reason why Aya needed her, and Ani needed her sister just as much~! They would be the Crossfire twins to the very end, and she wished for nothing in the world to change that.
Her attention was soon captured by quite a hard-to-miss sight. A rather tall male with indigo hued hair was walking below them into the ruins, and her head tilted to the side. Carmine eyes studied him closely, finding his appearance to be rather appealing. Of course, his presence also meant an opportunity for amusement for the two girls, and she held back a giggle at the thought. Carmine eyes glittered brightly, and she wondered at the thought that he had not seen them. Really, the sight of two fairies with wings extended should not be a sight to miss! He appeared to be a Sheikah, and Ani had heard that they were trained in stealth and combat from a young age. Perhaps he had not paid very much attention in those lessons, but that only made it all the more fun for herself and her sister~! Perhaps he would have something of value on him, or was he searching for treasure in these long abandoned ruins?
Ani peered at Aya with excitement in her ember eyes, keeping quiet as her twin motioned for silence. She waited until the stranger was no longer within their line of sight, and she glanced back to her sister with a mischievous grin. "We should see make sure he's aware of his surroundings, dear sister~" she answered. Oh, the two of them never had any malicious intent, and the only thing injured would be his pride on being bested by a pair of fairy girls. She leaned forward from her perch, quite eager to sneak up on the young male. "Where should we start, Aya?" she asked. Ani was much better at spur-of-the-moment plans than herself, so she would follow whatever she said quite happily.
Oh, that poor Sheikah had no clue what was in store for him~!

To be quite honest, the heart of the forest gave him the creeps. Many talk about the depths of Faron woods being the playground for the children of the forest, and the fairies. Some even go as far as playing with wanderers who get lost in these parts sending them on their way with mischief, and mishaps. He was fortunate for the most part of his journey didn't come across the two, and kept his hopes up that it would stay that way. Rey didn't want to stay in the forest any longer than he had to. Less likely he'd run into any obstacles other than the natural setting the careful Sheikah traveled through.
His deep red eyes began scanning the perimeters of any signs of the required stones he needed to take back with him. The stones were probably buried underneath all of the overgrown moss, and greenery due to the years of wearing out. He could only imagine what a grand temple this building was once during it's prime years. Limestone had a smooth texture along with a gentle color that architectures used for grand buildings. Now it was very popular as an aesthetic for any type of decor. As far as he was concerned, it was just a simple stone, it wore off over time, and only held significance to getting him his rewards afterwards.
In a sense, he kept to his duty when it involved satisfying results in the end. He perked up when he felt something strange underneath his feet as he examined the grass beneath him. His brows raised up realizing that he was standing on what he was looking for! Taking a step back, he knelt down and began removing the thin layer of green off of the stone he was looking for. When exposed to the light, it did give off a soft glimmer like they said it would, but it's only resource value as a commodity was anything precious like gems or other types of minerals. Still, a job was a job.
Little did he know that the very things he was concerned about were spying on him. He diligently worked on collecting every piece of stone he was capable of carrying in the leather back he picked up for the work set out for him. It wouldn't be long before he got what he need so he didn't have to prolong his stay within the woods.

"Agreed," she replied. Aya couldn't agree more with Ani. It would seem that the male was completely oblivious with realizing he was in the company of two playful little fairies. Never would they do anything out of sheer spite, nope, it was all for fun, and games. Some may call them brats who didn't know when to grow up. Aya liked to see it as being a child at heart, and being quite proud of it too~ Her firelight eyes watched which direction the sheikah was heading off to, her grin forming a bit wider, actually quite interested in what brought the ninja-like individual all the way out here to the Ruined Temple.
Many have tried ransacking the place trying to find what little there was to be found. Greedy men have lost their way, turning into stalfos, in hopes of pillaging the ruins of treasure or precious items to sell off. Aya, and Ani knew that the real treasure behind it all was sealed away. Or at least, that was what she had been told by the elders of her village back in the Sacred Grove. So with that in mind, she couldn't help but wonder what brought this young man all the way out here.
"Did you see what he had on him?" she inquired, "He doesn't look like he has much, but I did manage to catch what he was armed with. I wonder how he'd react when he realizes he can't defend himself~" Now that was a good idea. Besides, it was in Ani's field of expertise, snatch away his sword and hold it for ransom (what ransom that would be, who knows, who cares) until they had their fun, and give it back. Life wouldn't be fun without having a few obstacles barricading your path, after all~
"I got it," she came up with a plan, "Distract him any way you can. Make sure his attention is away from his surroundings, I'll take care of the rest." So with that plan in mind, she extended her fairy wings, and began flying up into the air. She flew through the thickets of the forest, and hovered above the area surveying the scene from above.

Oh, Ani was quite excited for what her devious sister had in mind~! He had not had much on him, but there was that rather pretty sword he had upon his person. Honestly, venturing this far out into the Sacred Grove alone was not all that smart, and these Ruins hid treasure that only a pure and just heart could ever hope to find. That was what the legend entailed, right? An ancient treasure that was said to be the bane of all evil, and only a certain kind of hero could find it, just like the hero of old had. Myths and stories were of interest to her much more than her sister, and so she had paid more attention to the legends the elders had told them. Then again, most did not even know about that particular legend, right? To adventurers, any old ruins appeared to hold ancient treasures. For whatever reason this man had come, he was going to regret it when he ran into the two of them.
Ani grinned at Aya, quite happy with the similar assessment she held of the Sheikah. "Oooh, he would not be all too happy about that~! He should pay much better attention to where he is, and we'll be the ones to teach him," she replied with a giggle. The younger fairy was quite certain the blade would be rather dazzling to be hold, and anything shiny just had to be pilfered by the slightly klepto girl. They would not keep it forever, but a nice little game of cat and mouse never hurt anyone. Their first adventure away from the ever watchful eye of their parents, and to have their own fun! Aya would know what to do, and she eagerly awaited her sister's plan of action.
Ani was always quite happy to have the role of distracting, since she played the part of a distressed damsel very well~! Giggling brightly, she nodded her agreement. "That will not be hard at all, sister~" she reassured, watching as Aya quickly took off. As her sister disappeared from view, the younger girl silently floated from her perch upon the dilapidated wall. Her wings soon disappeared, melding to body until she used them again. She pondered a moment on how she approach the male, but she decided to merely pretend to be a lost village girl. He appeared to be the chivalrous type, which would work perfectly for what the devious twins had in mind~! Ani took a moment allow her eyes to water, and working her expression into one of anxious worry. Her footsteps were rushed and hurried as she followed after the Sheikah, appearing every part of the lost maiden. Perhaps she was a little too good at this? Soon enough he had come into view, and Ani purposely stumbled into him, and allowing herself to fall backward onto the plush grass at the contact.
"I-I'm so sorry!" she stuttered, carmine eyes wide with apology and fear. Her cheeks flushed in embarrassment, and her hands were covering her mouth as she began to ramble out apologies for her clumsiness.

Rey couldn't help but notice how smooth the resource was against the palm of his hand. Piece by piece, he plucked them out of the ground finding the collecting portion of his work to be quite easy. He only hoped that it would all pay off in the end. He was not a difficult man to please so long as he was provided hot food, and a roof over his head then he was quite content with hard work. It would suck to have to sleep on the ground for another night after many days of traveling far and wide from distant places.
Rey didn't realize how much a bed was a blessing when he first started his adventures out into Hyrule. Now when he could earn his chance to work for his bed, he took up every chance with eagerness every time he got the chance.
When he concluded that his work was finished, the indigo hued male rose up to his feet and exhaled a relaxing sigh. Time to return, and collect his dues. He had enough stones to return back to Ordon Village with, and earn his keep for the night. Suddenly, something bumped into him, and completely caught him by surprise. He nearly jumped as he was pushed forward when another body stumbled into him. He blinked a few times absentmindedly.
When he turned to face the person behind the assault, he couldn't believe his eyes at the moment, looking at a young maiden who appeared no older than her adolescent years on the floor before him. A wave of guilt settled into his frame as he realized what had happened, and he felt at fault. Rey took a step forward, and offered his hand out to her. "Are you ok?" he asked initially. It was then followed by a few more thoughts on other pressing matters at hand, "How did you end up all the way out here, miss?"

From up above, Aya's firelight orbs began scouting the area. She looked around to the ground poking her attention to find the two so she had a view of the scene taking place. "Let's see..." she murmured softly, "Where are they - bingo~" She kept herself low enough to use the foliage as a cover up, but through the thickets where there were openings, she spied on the lovely twosome while Ani was working her magic on the unsuspecting male.
A large plastered smirk could be found upon her slender lips amused of how sweet, and innocent her sly sister was portraying. A million other girls could do it just like Ani - looking as innocent to get to who - it was easy if you do it right. However, we weren't talking about games of relationships~
This was a game of wits, and seeing outside of your vision. The male Sheikah had a lot to learn if he couldn't pick up what was happening right before his very eyes. After all, if you weren't on your toes, there was a high percentage that someone or something was going to make you fall. Face plants were always an amusing sight - except when the joke was played on her. Hypocritical? Maybe a little, but she was the one who liked making mischief~ That was how she justified her actions.
Aya placed her hands on both ends of her mouth. With an audible signal, the fire fairy began alerting her sister in the form of a bird song, chirping in a specific pattern. Only Ani would understand this calling, relaying the message that Aya was in position, and ready to surprise the male at her leisure. No rush~ Just rather enjoying the show, and let her have her fun before it was time to collect their dues.
All good things comes to those who wait~

Ani glanced up to the male as he turned to face her, and she almost felt herself faltering in her act. Her breath hitched for a moment, finally able to have a much closer look at him. Despite her rather flirtatious and outgoing demeanor, Ani still had very little experience with the opposite gender, and she could not believe she was actually being reduced to a silent state over a boy. Well, at least that would aid her stuttering and innocent act, right? Collecting her thoughts, she managed a rather timid smile up at him. His outstretched hand was a rather sweet gesture, and the young fairy almost felt guilty about what her and her sister were about to do. Well, he would be getting his sword back! Just a little fun and mischief, and that did not really hurt anyone. She was getting off track here, and her momentary silence was not really helping her at all. Playing it off toward her shy and nervous act, she grasped his hand almost hesitantly. "O-oh, no, please, I'm quite alright," she reassured with a small smile. No doubt Aya was nearby, scouting for the perfect perch to make her next move on. Keep the target distracted, and she was doing a decent job so far~!
Ani lifted herself up with his help, brushing off the dirt from her clothes. Ah, and there was the question that began to hint his suspicion of her sudden appearance~! Good thing she always had an answer to throw anyone off, and it was usually with the truth. "My sister and I d-decided to explore these Ruins, but she suddenly took off without me, a-and I have no idea where she went," she answered, feigning a growing dismay as she finished her explanation. Carmine eyes flickered around their surroundings, as if trying to see if there was any hint of her sister at all. Of course, she did not look above, because that was no doubt where her sister was hiding. Ani clasped her hands in front of her, taking a calming breath to halt her anxious movements. Appear as whatever they wished her to be, and right now that was a worried girl looking for her sister.
A rather sweet, chirping sound filtered through the air, and she recognized the convincing bird call as her sister's. That meant her twin was ready to pilfer and plunder whenever ready, and so Ani decided to keep him distracted by talking. "P-perhaps you saw her?" she asked, a hopeful expression in place. It was so very hard not to start giggling with anticipation of where this situation would be heading, and then soon enough the game of cat and mouse would begin~! Oh, hopefully her twin would hurry up! It also did not help that the male was rather handsome, and she could not help herself from blushing under his concerned attention.

Rey was caught in a puzzlement when she paused for that moment. He hoped he didn't come off as intimidating or anything, he didn't intend to scare her off, given that if that did happen he'd feel worse than before. It would also mean that he'd have to go find her again so she didn't get into trouble with the inhabitants of the forest as well. This was the adventurer assuming that she was a village girl who lost her way. When he got a proper response from her, he felt a bit of relief over his shoulders glad to know that the young lady was fairing well.
The dark haired male assisted the girl back onto her feet content that she wasn't injured after releasing her hand. Call him a sucker, but after hearing her reason for being in the forest only worsen his case of guilt. He sympathized her, and found that he couldn't just leave her like she was right now. It wouldn't be right. Not to mention he'd make an ass out of himself by telling her 'that sucks, have a good day' and make off with his loot. "Your sister is quite the reckless one, isn't she?" he asked jokingly.
He turned his head around looking around if there would be any sign of the girl's sister around. Judging from the looks of it, there were no obvious clues as to where she could possibly be. The soft sound of the wild bird's chirping in the forest gave him a bad feeling. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary, but he usually trusted his instincts when it came to sensing trouble was being brewed.
"No, I'm afraid I haven't seen anyone up until now," he confessed. His apologetic eyes turned back to meet her deep carmine optics.

Who was he calling reckless? He was all by himself in the heart of Faron woods, secluded away from the rest of the world in the realm only the children of the forest, and the fairies knew. Not that she would openly admit to it, but Aya was a little on the impulsive side, but she bit her lip from letting her emotions get the better of her. She couldn't blow her cover just yet because the idiot called her reckless. If anything, he was the one who didn't know where his place was. Well, that would quickly be rectified~ The redheaded fairy would teach this vagabond a lesson or two when dealing with strangers.
It was time.
Aya batted her wings up into the air again finding an opening in the thickets before hovering over the male figure. When she got a perfect aim at her target, her wings stopped moving, and soon enough her body went plunging down straight at the sheikah. There was a soft blow of wind coming from up above as soon as Aya nose dived a kick straight at the male's head~ She didn't even wait in time before her feet returned back to the ground before she outstretched her hand, and took a swipe to steal the kodachi away from Rey.
"Your sympathy will get you left behind, boy," she grinned. Her attention then turned back over to Ani laughing at how easy this prank was. With the boy's blade in hand, she tossed it up in the air, before it plopped back into her hand, then repeated. "A natural, as always, Ani," she praised her sister.

Ani was wondering what her twin was waiting for, because she had this charming male wrapped around her finger at the moment. He was unaware of his surroundings, placing far too much attention on her to be too alert to what would happen from above. His comment about her sister being reckless had her giggling, because she knew that little fact to be true. Oh, how was her fair sister reacting to that little statement~? Ani could just picture the annoyance upon her dainty features, and her rather short temper fraying at her personality being picked at. Even Ani could not tell her twin her shortcomings without receiving an annoyed glare in return. Honestly, it was a very sore topic with Aya, since her family had always pointed out that flaw in a constant fashion that merely progressed her sister's desire to leave their home for good. "Y-yes, she tends to get ahead of herself," she agreed with a small smile. Ani would most likely regret saying that later, but it was always fun to tease her ill-tempered twin~! [After all, she could get away with it for the most part.]
Ani felt a small amount of guilt at tricking this rather sweet male, but it was only in fun! He would get his rather pretty blade back, and the three could laugh about it all later~! There was a whooshing sound that meant her twin had finally decided to mount her attack. Carmine eyes flickered upward, seeing the crimson blur aiming for the Sheikah. Oh, did Aya always have to be so violent and harsh in her maneuvers? Her shy and demure mask melted in an instant, and she huffed in annoyance at her twin suddenly assaulted their target from above and behind. A rather surprising kick was delivered, and that would no doubt leave him in quite the daze. Ani bit her bottom lip, wishing Aya had more tact in this. Her annoyance evaporated as Aya plucked the lovely blade from his prone form, brandishing the sword in an triumphant manner. "No need to be so mean! He is quite nice and rather cute," she stated, giggling softly at her words.
Ani blushed prettily at her twin's praise, quite happy to always impress her sister. A wicked grin settled upon her lips, and she leaned over the male's prone form. Her snowy hair slipped over her shoulders, and carmine eyes peered down at him pensively. "No hard feelings, my knight~? All in good fun, and this damsel in not quite so distressed," she consoled with a sweet smile. Pink lips pressed against his forehead, infused with the sensation of mild healing magic, intended to numb the pain from the kick. Not too much, or he would catch up with Ani and Aya far too quickly! Pulling back, she stood to her full height and beckoned her sister after her as she began to sprint into the forest.
"Be quick and nimble, Aya, unless our friend begin the chase too soon~!"

His sense of duty to watch out for others was what brought him down. He was totally clueless to what was happening to him, and Rey would pay the price for being neglecting one of the most important things he's learned while training with his tribe. That was always be mindful of everything around you, and not just what laid right in front of you. If his parents saw him now they would be highly disappointed that he got himself into.
His ears picked up the swift motion within the trees but before he knew what was happening, it all came to an end. There was a brief moment of pain before everything blacked out. His body fell straight to the ground as the kick to his head planted a direct hit to it's designated target. He could barely make out the words of what appeared to be another voice taunting him. Before his conscience blacked out, he realized too late that he was assaulted.
However he did feel the effects of the slight healing of a strange touch upon his forehead. What was going on?! The pain upon his head nulled ever so slightly, but nothing was functioning as quick as it could have been. Like anyone who let their guard down, Rey was obviously quite upset about being tricked, and needed to get to the bottom of it.
(I'm sorry I kept you guys waiting. =/)
