APPEARANCE,Finch has the physique of a poor scholar. About average height for a young man his age, his lack of musculature nonetheless makes him look small comparatively. He is not weak, rather a lifetime of wandering and the occasional elective exercise has given him enough strength for the kind of life he lives, and not much else. Like many people who spend their time with their nose buried in books, he has weak eyes that require the use of dark-rimmed glasses to correct, and so he is never seen without them. His hair is tamed but untrimmed, as of someone who only really cares to keep one's hair out of their eyes and nothing else.
His clothing is utilitarian, but at the same time reflective of his status as a person of higher education. Preferring simple tunics and robes to sturdier walking clothes, he seems to prefer a comfort over aesthetics. Incidentally, his clothes are often drab and in moderately poor repair, as though he does not have the time, funds or inclination to routinely shop for new outfits. Somewhere on his clothing, in a discrete location, one can often find the symbol of the Triforce embroidered into the fabric.
WEAPONS,Goddess Gloves: White gloves of a luxurious, and yet strangely durable material. On their own, they are a poor weapon, acting as little more than a binding to keep one's knuckles from dislocating, much like boxer's hand-wraps. However, the symbol of the Triforce on the back of the hand acts as a focal point for the user's spiritual energies, enabling the use of unique magics.
ITEMS,Book: A collection of articles about the nature of magic, particularly those related to the Goddesses Din, Farore and Nayru. Contains instructions for magical spells as well as special rituals.
ABILITIES,Din Style: She Who Moves the Mountains (Level 1) A spell that draws on the power of Din to explosive effect. Starting with their fist touching the target or nearly so, the user leans into an attack, bending one's arm to unleash an elbow attack. This attack connects with an explosion of fire that can cause light burns and knock a grown man off their feet. This spell can only be used once every three posts.
Farore Style: Tempest of the Soul (Level 1) A spell that turns the user's inner energies into outward force. This skill is activated when the user takes a pose, unleashing a sudden burst of magical energy in all directions. This takes the form of a sudden spinning gale that can throw light objects within a five foot radius and buffet hapless foes that happen to find themselves within the circle. This spell can only be used once every four posts.
RACIAL ABILITIES,
Superhuman Strength: (Level 2) A combination of faith, ability and bloody minded determination can inspire even the most timid human to do incredible things. When pressed, Finch can use his incredible focus and piety to raise his strength to three times that of a human being. Naturally, however, this is reserved for emergencies or other such extreme events; humans limit their own strength for a reason, after all.
Mighty Wind: (Level 2) History has shown that an army backed by the might of religion do not fear death. Thanks to the kind of zeal his faith inspires, Finch can pull himself from the brink of death once a thread, returning to his feet with a moderate amount of his former strength back.
HISTORY,
Finch was born to a family of farmers and laborers. From an early age, he was possessed of a staggering intellect, hampered only by the utter lack of education available to one of his station. In isolated farming communities, there were few who had a use for books or, indeed, even literacy. His family, naturally being pragmatists, decided that it was far better to try and get him to act like a regular farmer instead of wasting money trying to find a way to cultivate his natural talents. However, Finch was a lousy farmer, an abysmal rancher, and could not stay on a horse if his life depended on it.
Finch scraped together what little money he could get and used it to buy a book. One book. Naturally, he set his sights high; he had found a tome of magic and religious rituals, and with it he taught himself the basics of reading, assisted by the book's original owner. With so much knowledge waiting to be explored, Finch found himself becoming greedy for more. He reasoned that, among the clergy, books like these must have been commonplace. He set out to leave his hometown and travel the fields of Hyrule. There, he hoped to find a way to become a priest, or otherwise discover more of the world of academia that he had missed thus far in his life.
