PERSONALITY,Kaimujin is a very friendly, inquisitive person. He likes finding things out, even when it ends up being 'curiosity killed the cat.' He just can't help himself. He does tend to help people, sometimes free of charge which keeps him low on income. He does get serious, at times, especially when he's on a mission. It's odd, the difference that come out between normal him, and ninja mode. Still, he does tend to be quite careless, messing up more missions then not; despite that fact that no matter what happens he still manages to complete them. He is very stubborn, and will not budge from an opinion unless you proved some damned good evidence. This can sometimes be a bad thing when he goes against someone with which whom he disagrees, and there have been cases in the past where this has happened. He is one who seeks encouragement and often looks to his partner, Arya, to supply it. He can be fiercely loyal, and passionate in his beliefs; though he does tend to still be a little naive at times. And he seems to ignore the saying 'look before you leap,' as he jumps into things without thinking. He is impulsive, and often doesn't worry about consequences until after.
When in 'ninja-mode,' he becomes quiet and serious, only thinking about the mission at hand. He tends to take it on with an almost single-minded intensity, which may contribute to his klutziness while undergoing a job. He does tend to be rather sneaky, almost being able to drop behind a person without them knowing, but he tends to ignore outside factors as unnecessary. He depends on Arya to look out for him during these times. Without her, he might very well find himself in deep trouble, with a high potential of dying. When he's like this, all the rest of the world could be nonexistent except for him, his partner, and his target(s). He does have a moral code, though. He won't kill unless absolutely necessary, or if it's a part of his job. He'll do it, but he won't like doing it, often falling into a depressive funk after the completion of said mission.
APPEARANCE,Kaimujin is actually quite small, despite his race's known largeness. He had only grown to about 5'6", and through vigorous exercise and fasting, he has forgone most of his hereditary broadness, and he has instead taken a more slimmer build. He can't avoid being a goron, of course, so he is rather broad-shouldered and big-muscled compared to the nearest Human or Hylian. Still, compare him to other gorons, and he is indeed one of the smallest of his race. He doesn't even look mean, with a pleasant, round face and large, friendly eyes. Despite his many shortcomings, he likes to smile, and his face seems to be on the brink of laughter at all times.
His rocky skin is a dark brown, matching the color of his rocky home perfectly, and it seems mostly unbroken. Save for a few lighter strips where one of his misfortunes led to scarring, of course. Those, however, tend to be small in size, if not in number, and only pepper his arms and legs. His 'hair' is a darker brown, and tends to be rather short and spiky. It covers the top of his head with inch-long spikes, then grows subtly longer as it travels down his head and down past his shoulders. The same goes for his eyebrows, such as they are. Dark brown and spiky, they rest over his dark-brown eyes heavily, giving him an almost sleepy look. He does have a tattoo, as well. Black, angular, it covers his left and right shoulders in dual symbols. It seems to be nothing more then some tribal decorations, but further inspection shows an abstract Triforce on one shoulder, and an abstract goron symbol on the other.
Kai tends to wear more clothing then is strictly necessary for a goron. As a consequence, his clothes tend to get abused quite a lot. Despite this costly aspect, he tends to cover himself in a black, long-sleeved shirt of a rough-cloth. The sleeves hug his arms snugly, and the shirt itself is open all the way down to his waist, where it's held closed by a simple belt of brown leather. Over his the sleeves, halfway to his elbows, he has a pair of leather vambraces that cover his hands to the base knuckles. Covering his legs is a dark-gray pair of pants of a durable nature. A pair of leather armor pieces overlap his legs, as well, going all the way to his knees. Like the vambraces, the greaves are dark brown and tooled with complex designs.
WEAPONS,
- Hidden Blades-Strapped to the bottom of his arms are two flat sheaths of metal. Hidden in the sheths are two, six-inch stilettos. At an impact or quick motion, the blades can shoot out of the sheath, impaling anything or adding to his close-quarters combat. Another motion will release the blade, and he can then toss them at a target or use them as regular combat knives.
- Belt of Diamonds-Around his waist Kaimujin wears a belt of a dozen knives. Each is shaped like a flatened, beveled diamond, with the bottom edge longer then the top. The diamonds are black, with a slight red in the center, and they have black rings fashioned on the top edge. He can both melee with them, and throw them at a target.
- Grapple Hooks-The hooks are pretty straightforward. There are three of them, and he hides them in various pockets of his tunic. He can use any number of them in of fight, or tie them to a rope to scale buildings. Like most hooks, they question mark-shaped, with an eye at the bottom and slots on the back to hook them together. They're sharpened on the top third of the outside, so they can do some more damage then bashing an enemy.
- Rope-The rope is skinny, dark gray, and about ten yards long. It is stored in a gray bracelet on his right hand that is thick, broad, and covered in an intricate design. The tear-drop shaped weight at the end of the rope fits into a niche on the side, making it blend flawlessly with the rest of the piece. The rope has many uses, from tying it to the grapple hooks to scale a building, garroting a target, or tying up enemies. It can detach from the bracelet with the press of the teardrop on the other side, but it's a pain to put back in.
ITEMS,
- Smoke Packets-The packets are about the size of his clenched fist, and made of stitched black cloth. Inside is a thick white powder, that spreads to dust when the cloth is smashed on a solid object. The smoke lasts for about a turn, and then dissipates, but it is more then enough to allow Kaimujin to do what he needs to do. He carries up to five at a time, and he hides them in various hidden pockets.
- Oni Kit-When Kaimujin is on a mission, he usually finds it useful to be mistaken for a demon. In those cases, he dons his oni kit, which consists of three parts. The first is a black poncho with tattered edges and a tight hood. Over his face is a dark gray, demonic mask, with fangs and horns. Over his hands and feet are black gloves and socks(respectively) with armored talons on the tips of his fingers and toes.

HISTORY,
While growing up, Kaimujin was like any other goron child. He grew up in the crags and rocks that consisted of his home, and he was content to keep his life that way. He got on rather famously with the other children, and he would often persuade them to play some of his wildly imaginative games with him. And, of course, he looked up to father immensely. He couldn't wait until he was old enough to help with his father in the mines, but he soon found himself of two minds about it. On the one hand, he was eager to assist his people, on the other, he didn't want to be stuck in that mundane task of tending to the mine. Conflicted, he tried to think of which way he felt the more strongly. Did he really want to help, or did he really want to do something exciting? He couldn't decide, and he become only more conflicted as he grew older. He covered up his confusion as best he could, but some of the others noticed that he became less enthusiastic as the days went by; less helpful.
When he was finally old enough to do something for his father, he started to have second thoughts about the whole thing. Fortunately for him, his father merely needed to deliver goods to the humans. Kai seized this opportunity, seeing in it a compromise between his two conflicts. He would end up both helping his father, and he would also not get stuck in the hot, volcanic caverns. He would get a chance to see other cultures beside that of the goron. Regaining his enthusiasm, he went down to Kakariko and delivered the shipment to the shop keeper he was directed to. He began to like this, but he still yearned for something more; something different. Sometimes he carted the stuff to Kakariko, sometimes to Hyrule Castle, but it wasn't as much change as he craved. What was he going to do with himself if he couldn't do the jobs his goron brethren gave him with the enthusiasm that he felt he needed? He felt his old conflicting thoughts come back on him, and he was at a loss as to what to do. One day, however, something happened that changed him. One of the shopkeepers had payed extra, and had advised him to keep the extra as appreciation. Grateful to have some money of his own, he went to find out what to do with it. He managed to come across a wandering merchant, and one of his wares caught his eye. It was a book. Kaimujin hadn't seen any book, but he did know how to read. So, his first purchase was that book. He read it right there, on the spot, oblivious to the world around him. The contents fascinated him, and he soon found himself wishing he was the hero. When the tale finished, he came out of his reverie to find out that a lot of time had passed. Shocked, Kai managed to get home and come up with some excuse to placate his father.
As the months continued, he continued reading the book. Then others that he ended up buying or lending. Soon enough, he became enamored with one of the heroes. He was stealthy, and small, but very good at fighting. Through a lot of hard work, Kai began a drastic change of lifestyle. He began eating less, if not stopping outright, and his free time was consumed by exercises and combat forms that he taught himself through the books. He still helped out with his father, but he no longer had the goal of joining him in the mines. He wanted to help other people, and he wanted to do it his own way.
Some years later, Kaimujin left Death Mountain to go wandering. His change had been subtle, but it was obvious when you did a side-by-side comparison with any other goron. He was shorter then most, and he was definitely skinnier then all of them. He had regained his cheer, and he had a solid goal in mind. He would go out and become a ninja, and he would be the first goron to attain that job. The others were somewhat derisive, unable to understand how one of there own could forsake his heritage, and go completely in the opposite direction. His goal was not one that befitted one of the 'Stone-brothers,' but he payed no attention to the rest. He was determined to do what he had decided, and nothing was going to inhibit that for him. Not even the scorn of an entire race.
Kai took to wandering Hyrule, taking up odd-jobs here and there. Despite messing up, he kept at it until he got steadily better at completing the missions, and he began to make more money. He didn't really care about that, he just wanted to get better. However, what he was doing was giving him a living, and so he took it in stride. Every so often he would do something, completely free of charge. He still revisited his home from time to time, He wasn't ungrateful or prodigal, but the other gorons never new quite how to treat him, Kaimujin single-handedly turning himself to an outcast. He shrugs off their comments, but sometimes they still manage to sting a little.
