Those who survived the frozen wastes of this land often did so through magic, or through their own inherit ability to survive the freezing tempertures. Zero did not have this luxury. As one of the Bane Branded, magical aid was beyond hi sreach. Ad whilst this was one of his inherit strengths it also made it exceedingly difficult to get to places were his prey might just be lurking. A few weeks ago there had been notice of a murder posted in one of Castle Towns many " fine " drinking establishments. The details of the murder were sketchy at best. But after some investigation on his own behalf. He had deduced that it had been magically motivated. The heart had been removed from the victim, and had been treated on site. His own enhanced Hylian senses, honed to the point of perfection. Revealed this much, as well as a trail for him to follow.
And that had been more or less precisely what he had been doing up till this point. Following the trail. His role as a Witch Hunter within the Hylian Knights meant that whilst he was still applicable to the orders of those higher above him in rank. He often moved out of Castle Town and out of contact. Seeking his quarry beyond the confines of the sight and influence of his group.
At some point he guessed that his prey had cottoned onto the fact that it was being followed. As it had taken a direct route at first, and then had cut through into this province. Perhaps hoping to shake his persuit. Unfortunatly that was not the case, much like a shark who has caught the scent of blood. Once the witch hunter had a rogue mage in his sights. He didn't give up the hunt until that hunger for death and justice had been quenched. His chain and sword hungered for battle. And he would give it to them before the days end. His path led him to the old ruins in this frozen wasteland. Likely being used as shelter by his quarry. Night was begining to fall and temps were bound to get lower. Even with magical aid, survival at that point would be difficult. Which was good and bad.
The mage wasn't going anywhere. But neither was he. Lorgana stood at the entrance to the ruins. Looking up at the sky.

As a soldier-of-fortune, the sheikah often found himself with reoccurring contracts. Often with odd and strange differences, but the similarities often outweighed those by far. Canon fodder, sparring practice, hunter, slayer for hire were all there. But the one that often outdid them all in regularity was guarding. Whether it be keep or kin, place or person it was often asked of him. Startlingly, he accepted them all and did them with success. Though those that he had do defend against often found themselves startlingly lost of luck as the psychotic warrior killed them with extreme agony and no mercy to speak of. So indeed was this latest contract. A human, dressed in rich but scuffed clothing had approached him with one of his oddest requests. He would be tasked with protecting the man, but first he had to wait by an inn.
Odd enough, but Jiyoran waited. When his employer was running towards him, he had given express orders. Run. How he hated to run, but a contract was a contract, and so the sheikah accompanied the human while he ran as if something was after him. Which there probably was. Through most of hyrule they had traveled, chafing Jiy's preferences and impulses until they entered the uninhabitable wastes of snowpeak. And then on to a ruin. Now then, it was time to get to work wasn't it?
The mercenary had escaped the ruins by a back route and had circled back to the front, waiting for the cover of darkness to cloak his deed. As he came back, he finally caught a glimps of the hunter, and his teeth shone white in the darkness. Oh, he'd enjoy killing this one, no mistake. Despite the cold, the sheikah shivered only slightly, and managed to keep enough to step to a projecting rock and leaning against it, nonchalantly leaning his spear against shoulder. "My. An odd place to find a soldier now isn't it? Late too, for any wanderer to come about. From the looks of things, your quarry is in there, friend. But why wait? Charging in would easily unnerve the fool." Slowly shaking his head, Jiyoran made a 'tsk.' "But what do I know? Surely you would wait out in the cold and the dark while he cozies up to some wyrdflame." Peeking open his crimson eyes, he beheld the man.

There was another here. He didn't bother turning around but kept the figure in his field of pre-riferal vision. Well that was right up until he caught the scent once more. The smell of magic that he had been hunting. It didn't corrode this ones insides like it would the mage it hung around. (Magic Senses LVL4)But regardless. It was on him. Whihc meant this one had been around the Mage he was hunting. What did this much mean? Perhaps this one was an adventurer who had wandered in and slain the mage already. But the next statement disproved even that. How was this one to know that he hunted something. Innocent or not, it didn't much matter to him. If he was guilty of colaberating which seemed likely then he deserved to die. If not. Then he was an unfortunate casualtiy. Someone who was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Lorgana turned and faced his rather large foe, at the same time unbuckling the witch chain at his side. The cruel spikes dropping to the snow. Witches often cottoned onto the fact that Witch Hunters were after them, some trained in the physical arts as to present a challenge. But that often waxed their magical power. Those who didn't want to risk either simply hired a body guard, or bewitched one. Either way the main risk to a witch hunter was damage from a physical perspective. Seeing as none could touch them from a magical.
" Save your words for Charon, I have no time for them".
Without any additional warning. Lorgana would lash out at his opponent. Aiming for a horizontal sweep with the chain, the movement would be in the direction of his coming so that if he ducked ( which seemed foolish as the chain attack was leveled around his rib cage) it would strike against the stone he was leaning against. For the most he would attack ensuring to keep distance between him and his opponent. For the moment.

His smirk broadened as the man turned to face the sheikah. At the same time, his didn't miss the fact that the foe had gotten ready for conflict. An odd weapon, but Jiyoran had seriously faced stranger. From everything he was seeing, this man wasn't going to listen to excuses or explainations. He had slated Jiyoran for defeat, which was one thing that the mercenary didn't take lightly. Well, see how well he handled losing to something like this then. He certain felt odd, but nothing the slayer couldn't handle. Almost grinning in anticipation, his gloves creaked as his hands tightened on the spear's shaft. Well, what was it to be, odd warrior? Attack or defense? And at the words, he could only chuckle. "Then let Charon himself tell you what they are."
The attack was without warning, but Jiyoran had prepared it. The chain was a useful weapon....for distances. All Jiy had to do was close it. Despite being deadly proficient in nitenwa, his long-range spear, he was prepared and willing to take things a bit closer. So as the chain whistled for him, he threw his spear in order to attempt to diflect the weapon and threw himself in a duck-and-roll forward, digging a furrow in the snow. It was cold, but nothing he couldn't handle, and as he neared Lorgana, one hand reached for his shoulder and unearthed his straight knife and sent the wicked blade in for a sharp jab at the fighter's side.

It seemed that his foe was making several deadly errors even as the battle had just begun. Spears were notoriously useless weapons when faced with one such as his own. He really had no idea what his opponent was doing trying to toss a spear at a quick moving lashing weapon. The time that it had taken to let loose his own projectile had wasted precious seconds. Tossing a weapon like that was like trying to hit a fly with an arrow. It took specialised aiming and time, neither of which the opponent would have. He would have been better off merely sticking the spear in the ground, the ridgity would have provided a block to the chain. But as this stood. The spear would have merely whistled past his own weapon missing its mark. The chain would strike the rock a mere second after the dodge roll.
The next mistake of his opponent came in the dodge roll itself. If he had moved to the left, or the right. The next problem he would now be facing wouldn't have been an issue. However. It was. The chain struck against the rock. Clattering to the ground as Lorgana allowed it go to. Since his opponent had moved directly forward. The chain's falling pattern would move in the same path as the rolling target. Meaning that unless gravity was particularly odd today. He would feel the chain and its spikes striking into his back as he came forward. Perhaps not enough to pierce him. But enough that he would know what kind of trouble he just put himself in.
Zero would then quickly whip the chain back to himself as his opponent came forwards to close the distance. The following motions would cause a kind of chain saw effect that if not avoided quickly could turn minor damage into something far more lethal. Regardless of what his opponent does at this stage. Lorgana steps two paces to the left so that he would readjust his position to be at the side of the opponent, successfully to dodge the knife. Assuming that his prior mistakes didn't interupt that attack to begin with. Whipping his chain up in a vertical to the right motion, which would bring the chain and its spikes up in a way from around the opponents back ( assuming he dodged the chain saw). Which would act as both a shield and hopefully a further deterrant to unthought out attack following his move. He at this point took the chain in both hands. Holding out a space of chain between each hand that he could use to ensare his opponent in close range.
