There was something rather simple about the country side of Hyrule. A small village laid within the forest depths, where a population of under fifteen or so lived within. The community was friendly, active, and worked hard for their keep. Children played together in groups of three to four laughing, or gossiping over the latest news happening outside their village. Everything was... ordinary. Midna began to question herself if it was a good idea to be looking around these parts. Regret was starting to sound like a good emotion she was having at the moment~
The tranquility was certainly enough to make her want to puke. Just observing people live in a day in their lives was a bore. All of this togetherness, and being apart of a friendly community just didn't sit well for the impish princess.
By the time dusk cracked near the western skies, Midna found her way on over to the ranch. Once again nothing out of the ordinary, no anomalies, no out of place phenomenons, no nothing! Just honest workmen tending to their labor, harvesting the fruits of their job or so to speak. It was much too peaceful for her liking. Mischief was quick to sink into her ever moving mind, but she quietly observed within the shadows for the perfect moment to arise~

There was nothing better than concluding a hard day's work. Link was just about to finish up the rest of his work load for the day. Only thing left was to carry a crate back in the storage shack behind the barn. Then he was free to go! He couldn't wait to get back home, and relax after working for the entire day out in the sun. Up at the crack of dawn he worked until the sun went down taking care of the ranch with Fado. The goats were always a pleasure to take care of so long as they weren't spooked.
The hylian picked up the crate and began heading over to the shack. With a quick slide into the shelf he easily got rid of his carry on. Before long, Link was outside stretching his worn limbs from all of the work he did. He could hear Fado giving him praise for the work he did today. A smile formed. His blue eyes looked off into the distance watching the sunset fall over the horizon crawling further, and further beneath the earth. Soon enough night would fall, and the little town would tuck away in a peaceful slumber.
What he liked best though was how the sky changed colors every time the hour of twilight arrived each day. It was as if the world was splitting in half by the shadow, and light moving in a graceful dance between a slow steady rhythm. Only the sun and the moon knew the careful pattern of this almost ritual of a dance they do for all eternity. It was a beautiful setting to conclude the ending of the day.

Well, it wasn't going to stay peaceful for long! Not with the little imp romping about with mischief on the mind. She was in desperate need to practice feeling quite rusty from not having anyone to play with in such a long time. Her powers were just sitting there collecting dust, and there was nothing for her to do except get into some trouble. It was going to be one of those evenings where she felt so free. Crawling within the shadows blending in within the scenery, she stretched out a bit, feeling at her peak.
Filled with power. Hell, might as well shout it out, tonight she was feeling really good~ So why not share her joy to the world? There was just so much in her that she had no more room to contain it all!
Unfortunately, the animals that lived on the ranch didn't see the same point of view as Midna did. The Ordon Goats were very fidgety creatures easily spooked by the slightest surprise thrown at them. For some reason animals had the sharpest senses when it came to detecting anomalies, and boy, did they sense Midna's presence. They were all types of tensed. Just the slightest thing that could go wrong would send them frightened out of their wits.
A sinister smile graced her lips. Midna noticed in the goat's pens, not all of them had their gates shut, whether it was an act of ignorance or they had yet to shut them it mattered not to the princess. All it took was a single force push with her telekinetic power, and right on the mark, the stray goat went into panic mode. It started charging straight out of it's pen, and into some random direction. It would have been a shame if the ranch hand happened to get in it's way somehow~

Link was just about ready to clock in for the day when... "RUNAWAY GOAT!!" That was the only warning he got before he noticed the goat rampaging out of the pen charging in no particular direction. Fado was quick to catch the goat escaping from the pen, but there was nothing he could do in order to stop it from charging at the gate. If it's mighty horns managed to smash through the gate, the goat would escape, and that would put the village back on it's livestock. He had to try to get the goat back before anymore problems escalated from this mysterious freak out. He had no time to think about anything else except jumping in the way of the goat's charge. The hylian planted both of his feet spread out on the ground as he opened his arms open bracing himself for the incoming impact. Steady... With both arms, he clamped down his hands on the horns as he felt the weight of the goat push him back a little. His muscles got worked into overtime as he made a loud grunt before turning the goat on it's side by the horns. As the poor beast fell on it's side, it's behavior suddenly turned docile and gentle once more. Getting back up on all fours it quickly made it's way back to it's pen safe and sound. Close. Very close. He could have gotten smashed into the gate while the charging creature ran off into the village. Link couldn't even begin to imagine what kind of damage it could have done. However that was the least of his problems. What was spooking the animals in the first place? His blue eyes narrowed slightly getting the feeling he's being watched. "Who's there?" he asked aloud.

Midna lost all restraints the second she watched the goat flip a lid. That was priceless! Soon enough everything went chaotic, from the rampant roar of the rancher's voice bellowing of the skittish goat running away all the way to an interesting turn of events. A young hylian stepped into the picture, and from the looks of it, he was going to stop it all by himself. Carmine eyes staring out from within the darkness watched with amusement curious as to what the little boy was going to do. Did he have a masochistic wish to break a rib or two? That was all the little devil could think of~
Much to her disappointment, she underestimated the boy's capabilities. Latching his arms onto the horns of the beast, he managed to subdue the panicking creature to submission. All was right in the world, and Link saved the day. Big whoop! Her fun didn't last as long as she wanted it to, but there was no room to complain~
The boy was sharp. He wasn't ignorant over the big picture of this scene. The goat wouldn't have flipped out without a cause for it to go off like it did. A smirk formed across her devilish lips. "A friend, or perhaps a foe," she answered playfully.

When nothing was apparent in the skirts of the field Link began to relax a little. Then, however, a voice spoke up from the shadows. He spun around and scanned every little nook and cranny, every shadow as best as he could. Normally his astute eyes would spot a shifting shadow, but the wind blew against the tops of the trees and that gentle sway caused every shadow to shift the same.
Analyzing the current situation at hand, Link began a process of elimination on who or better yet what was there with him. It was not a bulblin, that much was for certain now. They wouldn't be able to hide from him this easily, nor would they sound so coherent. This was something else. A woman. But where was she? Was she the one who had scared the goat? Link spun around again and took a few careful steps toward the edge of the field where he thought the voice might have come from. It was really hard to tell without any real visual cues.
Much to his dismay, she didn't leave much to figure out, making things twice as difficult. His acute brows furrowed in much displeasure of his predicament. How troublesome. "Friends don't go around scaring goats," he stated calmly, "Whoever you are, show yourself."

As a reward, Midna moved within plain sight, a free moving shadow approaching the young Hylian. The sun by now had hidden itself within plain sight, but the skies were still lit with a twilit glow. Just enough light to sustain the visuals, but not enough to threaten her being. Perfect~ Midna decided it was safe to come out for now~ Shadows began to grow as her form ascended from the earth from her shadow, and appeared before the young man was an imp.
Just an imp~ Nothing more, nothing less than what appeared before his very eyes. Her lone crimson eye poking out from her helmet danced with amusement waiting for the boy to try something. Anything. She flashed him a fanged grin as her feet dangled in the air from which she floated about playfully.
"Here I am~" she presented herself. A giggle escaped her lips as she waited for his response. She could tell he was trying so hard not to lose his control. How adorable! "What's the matter? Expecting someone bigger?"

When an appearance was disclosed, it certainly was a surprise to find the instigator of the goat incident was nothing more than a stout little imp. A brow arched as he kept his hands by his sides. With a clear visual, he felt control returning back as he thought about what the imp spoke. Her sense of humor was quite crude along with her dark form. "Perhaps a foot or two taller," he answered. Right away she didn't appear as anyone he'd put his trust on when supporting his back at first glance. Though he knew far better than to make such assumptions.
"Why did you scare the goat?" he began his questioning. In fact, why was she here to begin with? Imps were certainly trouble makers, but as far as he could remember, they were the type who traveled in groups to spread their trouble. Still, she was just an imp, and followed the traits perfectly like one. Link didn't find anything humorous through, and through.
"Who are you... better yet, what are you?" he furthered his interrogation. He couldn't begin to imagine if he didn't stop the goat from escaping. Someone in the village could have been harmed from the goat's violent panic. He kept such nightmares out of his thoughts focusing on the perpetrator at hand, trying to figure out what is he going to do with her.

"Sorry to disappoint you," she shrugged softly, "What you see is what you get." Of course, she didn't expect him to trust her right from first sight. Who in their right mind would lower their guard in front of an imp? A silly little imp with trouble on the brain, and a small frame hiding away the intents of a big schemer. What actually impressed Midna was the fact that he kept such a calm, and collect exterior despite confronting her of her actions. What was he expecting an earnest apology for causing havoc in the ranch?
Just the very thought tempted a laugh to escape her wide ear to ear smile. Then came the string of questions intent of getting straight to the bottom of why she was hear to begin with. How was she going to justify her actions, and repent for the grief she attained from the rancher? Midna couldn't begin to describe the glee that shocked her frame with a surge of happiness. It was too much fun.
"Why?" she mocked him, "Why, it was fun, of course!" Disorder at it's finest when fear is struck in the hearts of the weak. It was all in good sport, of course~ Nobody got killed because of it now, did they? Nope.
Her impish giggle escape from her lips. When he asked her of her identity her lone eye poking out from her helmet widened slightly. Her scarlet colored orb flickered with mischief as she danced in the air slightly. "Me?" she pointed to herself, exaggerating a bit, but she would not deny she liked his attention. "My name is Midna. Like Midnight, got it?"

Fun, she says. Her take on fun caused quite a commotion on the farm. Link frowned at her somewhat delinquent demeanor. She was no better than a misbehaving child who had no proper guidance on how to control herself around everything, and anything around her. A loose cannon by the very definition of the word. He could sense irony in her words. There was certainly more to this imp than she was letting on and he was masochistic enough to prod further into finding out more of this strange, but mysterious person.
He gave her a nod upon receiving her name. Link watched the cartoonish motions of the imp, the motions being exaggerated by her bizarre proportions. Imp was the best word for her, though only by comparison. It was really starting to nag at Link as to what she actually was. He decided to tuck that away for now and keep up his guard. Foreign blue imp lady startling the goats was not a reason to start getting friendly, especially with one so clearly mischievous. He took a careful step toward her, looking to get a better view.
"What do you want?" he asked. His blue eyes had a glint of curiosity, but more or less it was part of the interrogation process. He was certainly wasting far too much time than he wanted with her. She couldn't have been that bored she had to come over to the ranch to scare goats. No. There certainly had to be more to it than what appeared before him.
It wouldn't have been the first time he was over thinking.

Midna liked him. Oh yes~ She liked him a lot. The way his tension tasted on the tip of her tongue as he tried searching for any openings in her guard. Yet her exterior was nothing short of a fortress impenetrable towards those blue eyes that stared her down. They yield not to the imp's playful nature as his seriousness bore onto her. It was quite boring actually. Honestly, didn't this boy know how to have a little fun?
Were all kids raised with rods up their ass? Just the very sight of the world around her made her want to gag. Not to mention those who diligently worked so hard, and dedicated their lives towards this single place. Where was the fun in seeing the same things, doing the same chores, and following the same routines day in, and day out? Repetition would drive her nuts!
"Let me ask you this," she completely ignored his question, "Do you know someone is looking for you? A black knight was found here late at night one evening searching intently for someone~" Actually, she was only telling half of the truth. Rumor had it that a black knight did happen to invade the small village in search of a hero. Whether or not this boy was that said hero was up for debate really. The black armored warrior was met with a rag team of fighters, and it all went downhill from there. So that was the story told~ She would allow the bright little boy to figure out the rest of the details. It wouldn't take him long to figure out what she was getting at, and what were her intents.
"Who knows if that monstrosity will come back to take his revenge?" she stared at her impish hands whimsically, "If I were you, I would find a way to defend your home turf~ Don't you think?"
She let out a giggle. Oh~ This was getting very exciting she could hardly contain herself. Yet she must otherwise she would have him turned against her. He needed incentive to move his sorry little tail out of this village. Midna would be that said reason. Whether he wanted to or not. "So how about we make a deal?" she offered.

What a recalcitrant attitude! Not only did she ignore his question completely, but she changed it towards something practically irrelevant from the matters at hand. He didn't get her at all. What was she getting at? It took a second or two for him to register exactly what she was inquiring about. His eyes staring at her with disbelief as he let her question take hold of his thoughts. So the rumor about the black knight... it was true then, wasn't it? He had no idea that that creature people were talking about was actually searching for him.
What did they want with him? He was nobody special. Midna had to be lying! How could he trust the imp when all she's done was bring him trouble, and a forming headache. Conflict could be found searching for truth behind the girl's words. His eyes narrowing in her direction with an expression that could befit the description a beast snarling with intent distrust of what he could not explain. It tied knots in his stomach, but he wouldn't allow this Midna person to toy around with him.
"Enough of these games," he glared. Just what made her think he was going to follow along with her plan in the first place? This had nothing to do with him. However there was a contrasting side of him that felt compelled to hear what she had to say. He clenched his teeth together as he tensed up. "Just what do you want?" he demanded one final time.
What if she was telling the truth this whole time? To say he would regret this evening he disregarded her warnings, and he would be at fault for anyone getting hurt by him. The gods only know he would sacrifice his own life before he saw anybody fall because of it's own actions - let alone the ones he held close, and dear to his heart. He wouldn't let a single soul be harmed if he could help it. "What is this deal?" he asked standing calmer than he was a minute ago.

"My my~ Aren't you scary." Midna laughed. That expression was hilarious! He looked like a dog about to bite her for heading him straight into a corner. The way he glared daggers at her was quite delectable to say the least. His frustration was quite invigorating, and Midna's dark sense of amusement couldn't get enough of his attention. His emotions were true, and earnest like looking into the deepest sea. Yet the edges were jagged with sharp points, but Midna wasn't afraid of the boy. Oh no, in fact, she adored how easily the youth was riled up. It made him an open book for her to read page by page.
"Perhaps I may be willing to help you," she smirked coyly, "In return though you have to do EXACTLY as I say." The impish woman floated closer to the hylian. Tilting her head slightly to the side she gave him a childish wink giggling over just how adorable he was right now. She really did find his soured expression quite amusing to say the least. There was obviously some mixed feelings over the whole matter on trusting but that really didn't bother her.
He could either believe her but if he didn't then it was his loss. She would rather have him on her side rather than letting go right then and there. If he was going to prove himself useful might as well give it a shot. Her carmine eyes brightened at the boy's cooperation. Or at least she assumed that his inquisitions were his way of saying he'll cooperate with her. Back to the point at hand~
"Come with me," she grinned, "If you do, you'll find the means to protecting your home, and your friends. Blah blah blah~ All I ask in return is your complete and total cooperation, and obedience." Was she being manipulative? Perhaps a little~ Was she using extortion? Oh yes~

What should he do? Link didn't expect to leave Ordon Village like this. How could he tell his friends? He tensed as he pictured Ilia staring right back at him as well. How in the world was he going to explain this to her? He just couldn't allow anything to come and harm his home. The black knight incident was just one of the many things he knew he couldn't risk having turned on innocent people. Nobody deserved to get hurt for his cause. His fists balled up in tight anger uncertain of the choice he had.
"How can I trust you?" he quirked a suspicious look to Midna. Why should he believe her in the first place? He knew little of this woman's intents, and she obviously made it crystal clear she wasn't going to be sharing any information. Without much to work with, Link felt himself in a bind he couldn't find ways around with. What a troublesome woman...
Still, there was the thought she was going to help him. It was far too soon for him to be letting his guard down around this girl. The only problem he was facing really was the fact still stands she knew more than she was letting on. It would appear that he didn't have much of a choice now, did he?
"Do I have your word?" he questioned the imp. So long as she made that promise he had something to hold against her. Something stable so long as it benefited both of them in the long run. He was sure now that he would leave Ordon Village, and travel out to face Hyrule. Even if it means he must travel with this strange creature known as Midna.

Did she sense some hesitation? Oh yes, she most certainly did~ He was all torn apart with the idea of leaving his comfy little home. Severed by the very ties that made him comfortable, and should she say it, happy with his life. Well, life wasn't all about rainbows, and kittens in the end. Besides as far as Midna was concerned this was an oppurtunity of a lifetime! He should be grateful she picked him and not some other bum off the street. Or maybe it was the otherway around? Perhaps he wasn't so lucky since it was going to be a bumpy trip from here on out.
For now she would keep that detail undisclosed~ He was still doubtful of the whole proposition, but that was understandable. In the end it really came down to either he is coming with her, or he didn't. If he didn't it wasn't a real loss towards the imp. Rather she had to worry about his safety afterwards was what made her think for a moment. "That's up to you to decide in the end," she placed the both her hands behind her and relaxed floating up in the air. She began humming a soft, and playful tune. "If you do, then you do~ If you don't then that's too bad."
Though she probably had a feeling what choice he was going to make. It didn't take long before the twilight began to vanish beneath the veil of darkness. Stars began to poke their measly little lights out, and over the western end came a silver orb. It glowed with a pale light above their heads. Her smile brightened gazing up to the moon. It wasn't harmful, but the light was certainly a strange sight to behold~ Midna could grow fascinated with the small things in the Light Realm.
"Of course," she agreed almost too eagerly for his liking. "Remember~ You have to do everything that I tell you to do. I won't take back talk or disobedience." She made her statements clear. If he wanted something he had to serve to her needs in return. Kind of like equivalent of exchange, if that was a good way to put it. Now that her business was done here it was time to continue on with other business. She could imagine Link would like to say his goodbyes to his friends, and get ready before starting his big adventure. "I'll give you time to bid your goodbyes," she explained, "but be ready, because we leave as soon as you're ready! See you later~"
She left with a final cackle. Soon enough her body began to break down into a million black particles. All of which began floating up into the air until there wasn't a trace left of the imp's presence within the vicinity. Midna left the building, yo~
Exit.
