Sunset. Corvus had already finished his work for the day and was sitting on the roof of his small house. A beautiful sunset as always. Soon he would have to start his night job, and though he had no target for the night he could still do some exploring, maybe hit the tavern for the night.
For now though, his tail wagged and he kicked his feet off the rooptop, simply enjoying the view. People walking by, the sun falling slowly. It was a very pleasant sight.

Sunset. She needed to get back to the shop the parents of her late husband owned, and lock it up right away. Thieves were still a problem in Hyrule Castle Town, and she had rather clever ways of trying to ward them off. Unfortunately, no thief has yet entered into said shop but she was ready for when they do. There were people hurrying on home, and she could see the rays of the sun stretching over the walls of the town. It bathed everything in a radiant orange light, but made her blink if it shined in her eyes, like when reflecting off of a shiny surface.
Moving along, Sundosia had not seen the one on the rooftops, but she was not paying that close attention. She would be alerted if someone dropped down behind her, but other than that, she continued on toward the shop.

A lady who appeared to be in quite the rush was walking down the road, and an observant thief like Corvus always exploited that. Rushed meant nervous, and nerves were exploitable. Unfortunately, it was far too light out to be able to exploit such a thing. Instead, he'll do a little investigating.
Before getting up, he became like his persona, his jungle cat persona, sized down to look more domestic. Then he leaped from his roof and landed like all cats do.
As he got close to her, he couldn't help but notice she was well-armed. Quite odd for a shopkeeper, but a crossbow plus daggers wasn't an odd assortment.
Passing her soon after she locked the door, he began to paw at the door. Simple locks, not hard to pick, but not now. For he was going for attention, get a feel of a potential victim.

As soon as she had entered the shop, she shut the door. Not soon after, she heard a pawing at the door. Curious, her first thought was to ignore it, but she soon opened it, only to find a cat at the door. She just looked to it and shut it. Of course, she had thought of feeding it, but realized that if she had, it would only keep coming back. If Eris saw it, she would probably beg her mother to let her keep it, and the last thing Sundosia wanted was for the girl to have a pet around. The grandparents of the child would probably never agree to it.

Corvus was saddened that his adorable kitty visage had been ignored. How dare someone see a cat craving attention. Now imagine what would have happened is this were a real desperate cat. It might have resulted in a travesty, a very disappointing travesty.
When he realized the door wouldn't open for him he shifted back into his human form and looked at the lady on the other side of the door.
"What was that, you're just going to ignore the cat at your doorstep? I'm not asking for a handout, I just need someone to scratch my back. He put on his best puppy dog, which was strange for a cat minish. Still, he tried to garner as much sympathy as possible, though if she ignored the kitty he had very little chance.

What Sundosia was expecting was for the cat to eventually give up and go away. What she did not expect was the human voice that came through the door. She whirled around and thought to herself. This must be one of the Minish she had read about before. The woman never had a chance to meet one, but she had heard of them and read about them. Deciding not to be too surprised by the 'talking cat' she simply moved to the door and responded, "If you want someone to scratch your back, my daughter is upstairs. She would love to play with you and pet you." She responded before whirling around again and moving away. It was then she began to walk around the store, taking inventory of things and putting items that were in the wrong shelf, back in the right one. Hopefully this cat would get the message that she had no interest in him, and would figure out a way to go upstairs.

As Corvus entered the store, he gave a small bow to the kind lady who gave her an idea to go get petted.
"Thank you milady" He said to her in a sing-songy voice before returning to his form as a cat, downsized this time to a kitten.
"Mrow" he called out, slowly walking past Sundosia, brushing her leg before walking past and up the stairs, looking for this so-called daughter. What a nice lady, letting him take his time and scour the place for everything from weaknesses to potential exits. However, he couldn't find valuables, those were likely left downstairs, or in a private lockbox.
Eventually, he made his way to find the little girl and played the scared kitten, appearing a bit tense, and approaching slowly. "Mrow?"

Sundosia watched as the cat moved through and shut the door, watching him head up the stairs to see the girl. She could not help but to follow this cat. She made her way up the stairs, but lagged behind Corvus as she did. She knew Eris was in her room, and probably studying or something, maybe reading a book. Sundosia was not sure at the moment, so long as she was in her room. Eris looked to the cat that came into her room and a smile reached her face. She brushed her brown hair over her shoulder as her golden eyes looked to the kitten, "Aw, it's a kitten! Hello little kitten." She said as she moved and crouched down, holding her hand out towards it, hoping to look smaller.
Sundosia watched in the doorway, not sure what a Minish really wanted here, but decided she would watch for a while. She was like a mother bear at times. Why a mother bear? Because the mother bears were often terrifying when they felt their cubs were being threatened, and could be terrifying any other time as well. She crossed her arms and leaned against the doorway, just to watch and see how this Minish took to her daughter. It was still peculiar to her that a Minish would just waltz into a stranger's house and ask for a back-scratch, no, there had to be something else going on.

There was something else going on. It was a shop, and Corvus wanted to take a free look inside. There was power in information. But now, he had a friend to impress.
Corvus got a look at the girl's eyes and stepped back before looking over at Sundosia's eyes. the girl's were a golden color, but Sundosia's were blue. For a second he thought this might be a Gerudo family in town, which would be cause for concern, since Gerudo were much scarier than typical humans. But it seemed the girl's eyes were just that way.
Corvus still played the part of the timid kitten, slowly approaching the small girl's hand and sniffing it, much like a real cat. He stretched out on the floor next to her hand, trying to get his back noticed for petting. A soft purr began to emerge from his lips prematurely, but being the center of attention he was comfortable where he was, so the purr wasn't entirely out of place.

The light hazel eyes were just part of Eris's eye color. Her father had light hazel eyes, and she was born with the same. In fact, her hair color was a different color than that of her mother. Oh well, Sundosia knew it was her daughter, and that she just took more after her father than anything. She remained in the doorway with her arms crossed as she looked to the two. What was a Minish doing here? The question simply would not leave her mind. A Minish wouldn't just go to someone's door at random and want in, right? There had to be something going on here.
Eris kept her hand stretched out toward the kitten. The happy sparkle was in her innocent child eyes. She was only seven years old, so it was no wonder she was excited to see the kitten. Hearing the purr just melted her little heart as she let the kitten sniff her hand. She then watched as he stretched out on the floor and she began to pet him along his back, trying to scratch behind the ears and such. She looked up to her mother, who promptly responded with, "No, we can't keep him."

Corvus greatly enjoyed the massage he was being given by this little girl. Oh how easily little kids were exploited for petting. His purring increased in volume. Unfortunately the mother decided to ruin the mood by saying that he was not keepable. Without even thinking he reverted back into human form and pouted at Sundosia.
"Now you listen right here. It is not fair to tell her right in the middle of having....oh crap. I sincerely apologize." He realized he just put himself in a very awkward spot. Oh she was not going to be happy at all. Not to mention the kid would probably be terrified of her cat becoming a human. Oh damn.

All was going well, when Sundosia had said they were not going to keep him. At that time he had reverted to his human form and made to address Sundosia, who simply raised an eye-brow at him. A smirk crossed her lips when she noticed him realize what he had just done. Her blue eyes looked over to the girl, who was, of course, stunned and backed away from the cat now turned human. Sundosia was tempted to aim the bow at him, but not in front of the child. Instead,s he just gave the boy a look that said 'how do you expect to get out of this one'?
Eris was surprised that the cat she was scratching suddenly became human. She gasped, standing straight up, and backed away one step, but was not going to let herself to be so scared that she would run away. It was not how she was being trained. Of course, she was pretty upset that he had tricked her. In fact, she was not sure what to do. She wanted to scream at him to get out, but could only just stand there in shock.

Well, this was awkward. He looked around the room, an embarrassed look upon his face. He gave one last look to Eris, mouthing the word sorry to her before turning to her mother.
"I'm gonna...yeah. I'll leave." He hung his head low and dragged his feet out of the room, deeply ashamed of himself for making such a stupid mistake. It should have been simple, just get your back scratched and go. Not difficult. But it was far from the minish's specialty of going around not being seen or noticed, and so he messed up.
Poor girl was probably never going to be able to see a cat the same way again. Which was a shame, because cats are adorable, especially Corvus on one of his better days.

Sundosia really had no sympathy for the Minish. She was more than ready to see him out the door. He was not a customer, and she had no clue where he came from or what his motives were. It was extremely random that he happened to come to her door and wanted a back-scratch. Yeah. Right. As she turned to walk away, she heard Eris's foot-steps across the wooden floor as the girl had approached. Oh boy, here she went. Sundosia had to watch again. The woman knew exactly what was going to happen. Eris was going to confront the strange man who had deceived them.
Eris was going after the man who had begun to leave, "Wait!" She said, some of her brown hair fell into her face and she brushed it away, and brushed it back over her shoulder. She went after the man, "Wait!" She called after him, hoping to get his attention as she trailed after him. Her feet were thumping against the wooden floor beneath her.

Corvus had barely made it down the stairs when he heard the girl's footsteps coming after him. At the bottom of the stairs he waited for her to catch up, ready to take a knee if she came all the down and meet him eye-to-eye.
"Yes? What is it, little one?" He tried to sound mature and not let his inner prankster get the better of him. He already scared her once, he didn't need to salt the wound. Looking up he saw Sundosia looking after her daughter and shrugged, not quite sure what it was the little girl wanted.
