Being Alone All the Time is Getting Old(COMPLETE)

Akira was alone(what else is new) sometimes has its advantages. You don't have to worry about offending anybody, and you certainly don't have to worry about avoiding guards. However, with the sun gone to rest, he was left at the mercy of the darkened cold night. It was what one would call being bored to death. He tried playing his ocarina a few times, to try to soothe himself into a lulling sleep so he could avoid the boredom. But he was too wide awake to do so.

How boring...(sry in a rush)

On a whim, Titania took a midnight stroll down to Lake Hylia. She had been planning to go with a friend but for some reason he had bailed on her. It was a shame really. However, all that was lost as she looked out and saw the reflections of the moonlight on the lake. And not that evil kind of moonlight where your town was three days away from destruction. The beautiful kind of moonlight where you look at it and remember that the world is beautiful.

She sat on a rock and simply watched the ripples of the lake. The fish occasionally coming up, gulping before submerging themselves again. She heaved a long sigh, upset that there was no one to spend this moment with.

In the quiet of the night, she began to overhear the soothing sound of an ocarina. An instrument she typically associated with the Kokiri. She had heard the melodies many a time in the grove. And while this wasn't the grove, nor did it mean the Kokiri were afoot around the lake, it did mean that it was time to investigate.

She eventually traced the sound to a lone man sitting, playing. Too mature to be a kokiri, Titania's eyes perked up. Perhaps his company would be quite worthwhile. She walked up to him from behind before sitting down next to him, watching the ocarina with curious eyes, just letting him play.

(It's ok. I don't mind.)

The sounds emanating from Akira's ocarina were very beautiful to say the least. I was much unlike the usual depressing songs he wrote in his journal, this was different...it was a free style of raw and exotic natural beauty carrying itself into the chilled winds. The song sounded...magical. It was by far the greatest piece of music he had ever played. He shut his eyes softly letting the music carry him into a vast region of color and without worries. He pictured bright reds and cool blues as he played. It seemed to go above and beyond.

However, he immediately crashed down to earth when he noticed an unknown presence sitting next to him. It surprised him immensely and he almost managed to fall flat on his back. His eyes slightly blurred due to the shock of someone listening in on the music playing.
When his eyes refocused after a few seconds and he noticed the most gorgeous woman he had ever seen in his entire life. He blushed slightly by merely looking at her, thank goddesses he was wearing a hood that cast a long shadow over his face.

"I a-apologize if I bothered you", he was clearly very nervous speaking with her, and he felt embarrassed that she had heard him playing. He hoped that the unnaturally beautiful woman wouldn't notice his clearly nervous behavior. Just how long had she been sitting next to him?

Titania giggled as the hooded man seemed to be unquestionably nervous. As always the men were thrown for a loop the moment they laid eyes upon her. When will they ever learn?

"And here I thought you had some confidence. Your playing is quite good, please continue." She shook her head smiling, wondering just who this man was. She hadn't really gotten a good look at him thanks to the hood, but she'd seen the mannerisms of multiple nervous men to know he was among them.

Her voice changed from her typical friendly tone to her wise woman tone. "Fear not, hooded one, for you are among friends. Let the beauty of the moon reflecting upon the lake inspire you to write great songs to your ancestors...or something like that." Her voice had changed back and she was now laughing at her attempt to be serious. "Sorry, I couldn't resist. Seeing you jump at my mere presence was amusing to say the least." He seemed to be a swell chap, but she was curious as to what lay behind the hood. He was a mysterious sort.

Akira was slightly confused at this woman. Why did she care to even talk to him? He was used to being ignored or unnoticed by many people(mostly because they find him scary and unapproachable). Yet, here was this gorgeous woman chatting with him like any other person. She had also complemented his playing...and wanted him to play more...why would she want to listen to it?

He was very defensive and checked to make sure the deep shadow cast over his face from his hood was still covering him. Sure enough, it was as he wanted it. She began to sound like an old woman, which did not fit her personality from what he could see, however he quickly found that she was joking. He shifted uncomfortably, he was not sure what to say or how to react to this woman interacting with him.

So he decided to begin his song once again letting the peaceful song ease itself into the air and eventually finish playing. He calmly opened his eyes expected her to not be their, however
when he opened his eyes.....

When he began to play, Titania laid back on the grass, soft and a little damp. He had a knack for playing the ocarina, and she enjoyed just laying there listening. She almost looked for a pouch to put a rupee in, only to remember that this was an attempt to make a few quick rupees.

"You know, you have quite the gift there. You might be able to make a decent living as a bard." She gave him a soft clap when he was done, still wondering who exactly was behind the shadows. He wasn't opening up to her, which seemed like his general disposition. It made sense for him to be nervous if he was wearing a hood at night. But it was still nice to have company. She was waiting for him to break out of his shell, and she would wait a bit longer before she took a hammer to that shell. For now, she continued to lay, staring up at the stars, feeling content that her lakeside visit was not in vain.

Akira was naturally defensive, he hardly ever revealed anything about himself to anyone. More often then most his disclosed personality drove people away from him, it was his own 'shield of protection'. He was and is the lonely assassin. However, the only reason he is lonely is that he unknowingly pushes others away.

"Th-thanks, but I wouldn't last a day being a bard. Besides...other 'problems' would get in the way", he replied subconsciously referencing his job as an assassin. He truly despised killing others, it greatly saddened him every time a face disappeared from the earth. But it needed to be done, the selfish and greedy rulers would start large outbreaks in war, if they were simply left alone to do what they want, chaos would occur, and they would simply run for the hills when things got tough on them.

Little did he know she was one of those rulers, take away the selfish and greedy aspect. Though it was unlikely anyone would hire an assassin to get her, the possibility always existed. You never know whose life she ruined with her escapades.

"Well you certainly wouldn't make a living being a skald. Not with that stutter. You'd have to project more." She shook her head and placed her hands under her head, further relaxing herself in the face of unending tension.

"So tell me bard, are you trying to get rid of me? If you wish for time to yourself, I won't bother you. I get the feeling you'd prefer to be alone. Am I right?" She didn't want to outright say what he was thinking, she was no mind reader. But his mannerisms leaned toward loneliness. It could have been for a number of different reasons, and she would find out what it was, for no man should be lonely.

Akira's viewpoint on world leaders was exceptionally different then that of other assassins, he knew the fair and just rulers, from the evil and unjust ones. The type of leaders that he targeted, were the ones who would deliberately steer their people into a crisis. He understood the concept of how difficult it was to rule over a certain people, and was perhaps one of the most merciful assassin out there. Everyone makes mistakes, everyone has flaws, and that included leaders. However, the leaders who rammed other countries into the ground for their own amusement were not on his 'Nice' list.

"I'm not trying to get rid of anybody...it just sort of happens...", he slightly spaced out and revealed a distant look finally causing most of the shadow covering his face to disappear. Akira was not normally one to be so up front about things, but this was a special occasion, this was the first conversation he had that wouldn't end in someone steaming off in pure anger.

She asked him if he preferred to be alone...an interesting question. It was worthy of an interesting answer,"Sometimes...but occasionally being alone all the time tends to get a little too lonely." It was a small joke...he didn't make jokes very often and you seldom hear him deliver them at all; then again, people seldom hear him speak.

Titania rarely took this long to figure someone out. But he was giving her so little information to go off of he was still an enigma. No face, no background, very little conversation, it was all very frustrating.

"You know, it's hard to remain interested in someone when you give them as little as you have." He also came with that terrible loneliness joke which almost made her vomit in her mouth. "By the goddess that was awful. Look, it was nice to talk to you, but if you're not gonna let me in, there isn't much I can do for you. You can't push someone away and then turn around and complain about being about lonely." She hadn't really been that frustrated away from the court in a while. It was odd, here was what she suspected to be a non-fairy and she was still upset at them. Well, that was what happens when you push everyone away. Titania rolled over and began to hoist herself back to a standing position.

Akira was very surprised of her reaction. It was so sudden. He really needed to gain more social skills... He looked down in embarrassment as she was talking. He wasn't even aware that he was pushing her away. What was wrong with him? He sighed slightly and did something that he never did in his whole life. He looked her straight in the eye taking down his hood as he did so."Im very sorry if I have angered you...it's just that I don't really know how to interact with others very well. I just figure that actions speak louder than words." Goddesses he hoped that his statement was on key, and didnt sound wrong. It was a small moment, but he had crawled out his shell. He blushed and looked away, as the woman was very beautiful, and he felt awkward around beautiful women."Sorry..."(it's a little short but it'll do for now, posting on my phone)

Titania was quite surprised by his very bold gesture. She was expected more of a whatever response but this was genuine, and very nice to see.

"I see, you didn't strike me as the social type." Now that she finally had a look at his face she felt like they were actually beginning to connect now. In a way she almost felt bad for him and his social ineptitude.

"Well, your apology is accepted, and I appreciate you telling me this, I'm sure it can't be easy. However, this also will not do. It's never too late to learn how to interact with people. Let's try something simple." She held her hand out towards him. "Good evening sir, how are you?" She wasn't sure where to start, so the basics of a greeting and handshake seemed as good a place as any.

Akira was slightly taken aback by the sudden change in mood he was still confused as to what to do. She actually seemed genuinely sympathetic and concerned, something that Akira wasn't used too. She held out her hand, guiding him on basic sociability. He was slightly nervous of this and shuffled his feet. He reached out his hand and gripped her hand, shaking it carefully and testily."I guess I'm....okay", he stared at her pleadingly, asking directions on what to do next.

His nervousness was more the nervousness she was used to, the kind that almost made him seem adorable. His shuffling feet and tense demeanor was much better for the mood.

"Good to hear." She wondered what next to educate him on. She was starting to like having him around, now that he was starting to open up to her. "So what brings a solo man out to Lake Hylia on this night? Just ask a few simple questions. How are you, what are you doing here, what's your name, those are good questions to ask. For example, I wanted to take a late night stroll and my name is Titania. It's nice to meet you."

Akira figured that it would be difficult to introduce himself. He never guessed that it would be as easy as this. He realized that his hand was still gripping Titania's, and swiftly let go, slightly blushing from the extended contact with her.She introduced herself as Titania...it matched her perfectly."I-I'm called Akira, and I have no clue why I'm here...", he hoped he went about introducing himself the right way and didn't make to many mistakes.He calmly scratched the back of his head."What now?"
