The moon struck lighting over the scene of a sleeping Hyrule Field. If you were quiet enough you could sneak around by yourself without attracting any common monsters, wandering around in pursuit of the thrill of fighting. Alarice jogged through the darkness of the night, she was a silhouette to most any spectators that caught her in their vision.
She approached the dim light of a camp, consisting of three tents, a camp fire and roasting food, along with bags of good and such. As she got closer to her impulsed destination, it was clear that this was a Bokoblin camp. Alarice watched the camp, just out of lighting from the camp. She blended in with the darkness, the Bokoblins had yet to notice her.
One Bokoblin was sitting next to the fire, enjoying a chunk of meat from the game they had hunted. Two others were in the right tent, and the last one was standing around outside the middle tent. So all in all, there were four Bokoblins. They looked pretty content and rested, but like most Bokoblins they were hostile towards many races.
She had yet to fully survey the camp, there could have been someone tied up in the tent that appeared to be vacant, or someone could've even waltzed right into the camp. Alarice, she had her war hammer, dubbed Pandora's War Hammer, resting on her knees as she crouched down; both of her hands had a firm grip on the hammer.
She wasn't sure if she wanted to do anything, the camp had useful goods there... but... despite Bokoblins being generally outmatched by seasoned fighters and the more clever travelers that may come upon them, they could have an ace hidden in that tent (they actually didn't, though). Originally she was just on her way to Hyrule Castle Town, but she couldn't resist creeping upon a camp of lesser monsters.
The Bokoblin eating was almost finished with his meal, he looked really pleased with his food.

He did feel a little uneasy, being this far from the castle so late at night, but there was definitely a good reason for his departure. Remembering the scene that unfolded earlier that day, he went over his orders in his head one more time.
The Bokoblin situation is getting a little out of hand, too many caravans are entering Castle Town with insufficient deliveries. There's no way to pinpoint the specific encampments causing trouble, but there are a few nearby that are prime suspects. You are to scout out the camps, retrieve any stolen goods, and eliminate hostile targets.
The boy would have protested if the Bokoblin were minding their own business: just because he liked the occasional fight doesn't mean he likes slaughtering innocents, but this wasn't the case. The camp was coming up in his line of sight, his dark crimson eyes scanning the area. With a flick of his white hair, he prepared to enter- ... wait a minute.
As he was nearing the end of his surveillance, he noticed a humanoid figure hunched down near a separate edge of the camp. There was nothing in his briefing about a second party, but the more the merrier really. Silently and professionally, he crept around the outskirts of the Bokoblin camp, approaching the figure. There wasn't an abundance of light, but he could tell that this stranger was a female, and very well armed.
There was no easy way to go about starting a conversation with a group of possible enemies in sight, but Cameo did the best he could. "Any hostages or other points of interest?" Despite his best efforts to sound like a war-tested strategist, the Sheikah still managed to sound incredibly awkward. "Scratch that... um... hey." By the gods this kid is embarrassing. At least he managed to keep a hushed tone that even the female might not hear. To be honest, it would be a good thing if she didn't hear that terrible "introduction."[/style][STYLE=border:2px solid #494949;background:#efefef;padding:3px;font-size:9px;text-align:center;color:#4c4c4c;margin-top:4px;]tags Alarice credit table by greyson of btn notes Not my best entry QQ[/style] |

While someone joining her in hiding was totally unexpected, he seemed to not show any oppression or danger to Alarice; so he was welcomed. She stayed in a serious tone, she spoke just quiet enough for Cameo to hear. "There are four targets here." An idea was already in her head, he must be an agile fighter; or just a kid. With the professional greetings being trashed and replaced with something a little aloof, she thought he could have very well been some idiot. Alarice decided to go with thinking that he could help her in her reckless idea. It was simple, really.
"I've got a plan... I'll be the distraction, pick them off until there's one left. I want to finish him off." And that was the plan, fairly easy as long as Cameo could carry his role. "Oh... and also, who are you?" Alas, she didn't know who he was. His eyes gave away his race, but his occupation was unknown to her. Her frank question might have been a little too cold and apathetic, but she could care less about that right at the moment. She wouldn't be going along with her plan until Cameo gave his opinion. Up close it should be clear what her weapon is, a large hammer. More distinct features were still shrouded by the darkness, the same went for Cameo to Alarice, only his eyes are what intrigued her.

He nodded after her response, mentally patting himself on the back for spotting all of the hostiles in the area.
The plan seemed fail-proof, but the teen couldn't help but think that his sub-par first impression masked his skills. None the less, he mulled it over, trying to formulate a sound reply that didn't make him seem any more clueless than he already was.
"Sounds good to me, I don't mind remaining unseen." Staying as quiet as possible while still attempting to stay audible wasn't a hard task, but he did feel slightly restricted. Unfortunately she had to ask who he was... Cameo always had to think about introducing himself; if he just blurted out that he was a Caretaker he might attract unwanted political hate.
He didn't hesitate with an answer, however, because time was of the essence. "Cameo. You?" After the short, sweet introduction, he politely held his hand out. Whether it was an informal handshake or a proper, gentlemanly greeting didn't really matter to him, it was now up to the lady to decide.[/style][STYLE=border:2px solid #494949;background:#efefef;padding:3px;font-size:9px;text-align:center;color:#4c4c4c;margin-top:4px;]tags Alarice credit table by greyson of btn notes I really wanted to make his voice crack for added hilarity ._.[/style] |

If he was okay with the plan, she would start it off right away. And so she did, she neglected to respond to Cameo and started off the assault. Alarice sprung from the shadows and immediately acted on impulse. The Bokoblin by the fire had taken out another piece of meat, it looked like a turkey leg but probably wasn't from a turkey. It was snatched out of his hands just before he took the first bite. Alarice indulged in it herself while the Bokoblin sprang up and stumbled backwards, the other Bokoblin standing around took his wooden club off of the ground and pointed it at her, crying out in a small, short burst. The other two Bokoblins came out of their tent then, one of them had a club similar to the other and the other one had a club in his left hand and a rusty sword in his other; that Bokoblin tossed the defenseless comrade the club and he caught it.
The four Bokoblins surrounded Alarice while she finished off the leg. She readied her hammer, if Cameo didn't eliminate any of the enemies it would probably get ugly. There was a radius of a few yards between Alarice and the surrounding monsters; they looked at each other and then to Alarice. The Bokoblin with the sword shook his head as if to say "no", but al lthe others agreed with each other, shaking their head as if to say "yes".
"Nice food, I'll give you that." She stood with a tall posture, the end of her hammer on the ground, ready to be lifted up and swung by her two hands that gripped it again. "Your probably not the ones who found it, but you did cook it. So..." Even though her small talk was friendly, she had the malicious intent to take down any of them to lunge at her; Cameo was supposed to pick them off while they were all focused on her and her large weapon, so she left him to do or do not.
The Bokoblin with that rusty sword grunted, taking a step forward. He still had more feet to go until he could be pulverized, the others stayed back. It was a rather smart thing for such dumb monsters to do, if they all went at her they'd be hurting each other in the confusion of the fight. Alarice knew very well that if she did have to take them all by herself, she would arrive at the castle town with a few wounds, and a stay at an inn for a few days while she heals up wasn't in her favor.
Also, now that she was in the light of the camp fire, you should see her clothing and hair better. Ninety percent of her intimidation probably went into her giant weapons. On a note, the Bokoblins probably found her pleasing to look at, as they probably are raunchy and untactful in nature, like most monsters similar to the monster's race can be. Losing was a dead end, obviously.

Then again, earning it at the end of the fight would probably feel more satisfying. After the stranger made her approach, he waited just a few more seconds to let the Bokoblin get in formation. "3...2...1... Showtime~" The whisper was solely for his own amusement and probably inaudible, but it marked the beginning of his assault.
With the Bokoblin in a circular formation, it would be unwise to simply sneak up behind the first one, so he did what he was best at; Cameo easily merged into the ground, erasing all traces of his existence. In a second or two, he emerged behind a club-wielding Bokoblin, using his enemy to hide himself from the others. There was no way to get a clean kill without being noticed, so he decided to do it as quickly as possible.
Twisting one of his swords in his left hand, he took a stab at his cover, presumably piercing its heart. The sword barely went through, so there was bound to be an exit wound, but hopefully the others wouldn't catch on just yet. Since time was of the essence, the Sheikah weighed his options and decided that speed was just a bit more important than stealth. This being said, he swiftly withdrew his sword from the deceased Bokoblin and made a mad dash for his next target.
As he sprinted, Cameo couldn't help but get a glimpse of his partner in this dispute now that she was revealed by the campfire's glow. The boy was anything but a womanizer, but he couldn't help but think that she was cuter than most war-hammer users he's met. There was no time to elaborate, however, because time was ticking and he still had two responsibilities.
There was no way he could take both Bokoblin on without protest, and he did say that he would take them out quickly. Trying to make a good first battle impression, he made a move that was a bit too reckless to fit in his normal routine: he threw one of his swords at the Bokoblin across the battlefield while dashing at the other.
The air-born sword spiraled by the girl and the sword-wielding Bokoblin, much to Cameo's dismay, but miraculously hit the other club-wielder in the chest. It promptly emitted a withered cry before falling to the ground, and now the boy was one sword down with one target left. This entire ordeal took about four seconds, and now he prepared to finish the last club-wielder while his associate fought the presumed leader of the group.[/style][STYLE=border:2px solid #494949;background:#efefef;padding:3px;font-size:9px;text-align:center;color:#4c4c4c;margin-top:4px;]tags Alarice credit table by greyson of btn notes My battling is rusty ;w;[/style] |

Everything went good enough. Cameo was on his way to end the other Bokoblin, and the sword-wielder was getting closer. Alarice lifted up her hammer, but set it back down and freed her hands. The Bokoblin's sword was so dull and rusty that it couldn't cut much better than a splintery stick. She put up her fists in a boxer-like stance; she was most likely much stronger than this naive swordsman (if you could call him that). And so he took a swing at her, lifting the sword up above his head and slashing it down. Alarice caught it with her hand, getting a good grip on it. The result of this was not much worse than a paper cut, it made Alarice wonder how the camp hadn't already met a fiasco before.
She wrenched it out of his hand, he cackled at her; it must be very thrilling for him. It looked a lot like he was a sadomasochistic fighter, that will probably be true until he's beaten to a pulp. The sword slid across the ground several yards behind the two, now both of them were unarmed (even though Alarice's weapon was in reach for her). This proved to be a fight too easy, chances are if she threw a punch the Bokoblin wouldn't be able to dodge or block it; they were most definitely only useful as ranged fighters, and yet they all used melee. That was probably the reason they'd meet their demise so early by these two.
The monster weaved around Alarice to her side, which she responded with by trying a round house kick, spinning around with the attack. It must have been really a good kick, because her foot smacked against his neck, crushing his esophagus and while it didn't break his spine, it made his throat collapse and the Bokoblin fell to the ground, failing to rebound and instead writhing around in pain; this monster was obviously inept at fighting, or even taking care of his healthy state.
She wasn't sure if Cameo had defeated the other monster, she was focused on her goodbye to the enemy she had just defeated. She walked up to the Bokoblin, looked down on him as he balled up his hands into fists and pressed it against his temples, he couldn't produce any cries or screams any longer.
"I, The Ephemeral Scar, win. My prize is your life." And with that said, she did as she promised. Alarice launched into the air with her leg muscles, being a stronger woman she went about five feet up. She slammed down onto the ground, right on the Bokoblin. The impact ended him from internal damage, she got up off of him immediately after landing and took back her hammer, hoising it up and letting the handle rest over her shoulder. Mission success, if Cameo managed to defeat the last one.

After collecting his second sword from the tomahawked Bokoblin and shaking off any possible gore, he carefully re-sheathed his blades. Making sure no evidence of the battle was left on his person, he pushed his hair out of his line of sight and approached the stranger.
"So, should I ask you for your name now or just start calling you Scar~?" He asked in his regular speaking voice. There was no threat now, and it honestly felt good to stop whispering. The little boxing show he got to witness definitely locked in his opinion of this girl; she can get things done if need be. It was nice that he was presumably on her good side, usually people that hit like that were aiming their fists at him. Feeling safe, he just stood by and waited for a response, basking in the light coming from the dwindling campfire. "Scar." Now that they were in the light of the camp, she could see Cameo in more detail. He could be uglier, so...
"You can go now." Honestly, she didn't actually want him to leave, she was just a little cold from her mood. He could fight at least Bokoblins, she couldn't say that about some people she's met before. Perhaps he could fight stronger enemies too, and being as amiable enough as to go out of his way to accompany her (she thought he hadn't any other reason) he must have some kind of charm to him. Or not.
Alarice took another look around the camp, there were supplies in each tent and crates of food around still, probably stolen. There were probably things in each crate ranging from food to alcohol. The leftover Bokoblin corpses sprawled out on the ground, she didn't take much concern into it.
She looked to see if Cameo was still there, or he left like she had told him to.

For now, however, he had to decide whether or not he should let Scar shoo him away so easily. The answer was obviously no, but at least he thought about it first. Putting his hands behind his back and tilting his head slightly, Cameo examined her.
"I can, technically, but if it's alright with you I think I'll stick around." He said it in the nicest way possible, but he had a feeling it would come out awkwardly. Since he wasn't much for prying, it took some internal debate to decide whether or not he should ask questions. "Any particular reason for skulking about here?" There was most likely a simple reason for her being here before they teamed up, something like being hired to deal with the monsters or simply wanting to fight, but hearing a different story might be exiting.
Before he waiting for any answer, he pulled an elongated box of stolen supplies next to the campfire. Promptly sitting down on one end of the box, he motioned for her to join him on the other end, sitting by the fire. A little rest was always good after a fight, and Cameo could use a good chat.[/style][STYLE=border:2px solid #494949;background:#efefef;padding:3px;font-size:9px;text-align:center;color:#4c4c4c;margin-top:4px;]tags Alarice credit table by greyson of btn notes Short, but hopefully enough content to work with[/style] |

Alarice sat down at the fire with Cameo, sitting on the box with him. Her hammer was set down next to the box, standing against it with the handle sticking up. The fire was nice; the night wasn't actually that cold this time, but still, the fire was nice. "You're pretty nosy, Cameo." |
[/color] Cameo had enough evidence to ask, though. He didn't know what she was doing here, and that was understandable... sort of. Right now Alarice didn't seem to care much for his questions. But still, she decided to answer him, despite what she just said before. "I used to work as paid muscle most of the time back where I lived. I've had to take back stolen goods before, so I'm familiar with this kind of work." For her excuse, it actually wasn't so exact. She wasn't being paid to do this, and she couldn't benefit from this with Cameo here; of course he wouldn't agree to her taking the goods. People can be selfish or such a goody-two-shoes all the time, she didn't know if he was like that, though. She assumed so anyways. She would've planned on giving the good away to people who could use them, like a robin-hood-style deed, only instead of stealing from the rich she pulverizes monsters and pillages their camps for their treasure. For now, however, Cameo simply restated Scar's reply. "Paid muscle, eh? I guess I can see that; that hammer of yours could definitely strike fear into some ruffians." The thought of her chasing around burly crooks with her hammer amused him, but in all actuality he knew that it probably wasn't so comical.
The boy leaned back, placing his arms on the box for support as he looked skyward. It was rather nice out tonight, and despite the fighting Cameo had a pretty calm day. "It seems the stars are all out tonight~" He chirped happily, gazing into the night sky. "So tell me... Scar... Were you paid for this particular job?" It wasn't meant to be a personal question, Cameo simply wanted to know whether or not the caravan operators trusted him to get the stolen rations back. If they had hired some mercenary to do the job behind his back, well, he would honestly been a little offended.[/style][STYLE=border:2px solid #494949;background:#efefef;padding:3px;font-size:9px;text-align:center;color:#4c4c4c;margin-top:4px;]tags Alarice credit table by greyson of btn notes o.o[/style] |

[/color] And what she spoke was true; she didn't have any reason to lie, so why should she have? "I know a family back at this small village who could use the food."[/color] Giving the supplies back to their original owners wasn't her intent, even if it was Cameo's. Alarice took another glances around at the supplies in the camp, it was more than enough to feed them for a while. "Family of around five, see 'em begging on the side of the road when I'm there." She had known them from a paid job, the first time she went over there the mother was asking for food, rupees; not very much, just enough to get by. It looked like they were too far down into poverty to rebound and get out of the dirt, they probably were in the same situation still... One thing, though, they had some pretty adorable children. That got most people suckered in. [/size] [/div][/center][/td][/tr][/table] © TOKY ! @ OTE [/center] FRIENDLY SHORT PANTS POST /o/ \o\ OOC NOTES

"Well, I suppose your intentions are nice, so I believe I can help." There was really no reason to lie to the caravan operators, but he felt he owed Scar a bit for the assistance; well, that, and helping a starving family never hurt anybody. "I can just tell my employers that a few of the boxes were either empty or destroyed in the battle, the rest of 'em will be more than enough to make them happy."
As long as the majority of the boxes went back to Castle Town, everything should be okay. A few were inevitably going to get raided or lost anyways, so it's not like a bit of bad news will be completely unexpected. All in all, this was a successful mission, even if Cameo is going to end up telling a fib here and there to the Guard Captain.[/style][STYLE=border:2px solid #494949;background:#efefef;padding:3px;font-size:9px;text-align:center;color:#4c4c4c;margin-top:4px;]tags Alarice credit table by greyson of btn notes Literature![/style] |

Alarice stretched up her arms up, it probably would have been better to stretch before the fight... oh well, Bokoblins didn't pose much of a threat alone, and Alarice only had to fight with one anyways.
"Alright, then." She got up, and took her hammer. Then she took a medium sized crate of food, enough to feed for a few nights. That was all she could carry, so it was good enough. The village wasn't THAT far away, but she did have some walking to do. Might as well stay there instate of castle town, she could go there next. The conversation didn't seem to be going anywhere, so she didn't have a reason to stay there (yet). She was ready to set off already, her arm around a crate and her other carrying her hammer.
