[atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,5px,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400,true] His leader turned and began to walk away, and so Vittorio suspected that their encounter was over. Even so, he felt a nagging sensation in the back of his mind that kept telling him it would be pretty terrible predicament if he just left the Queen with these assumptions of hers. Not to mention if he hadn't seen Titania at all in the two years of his services, then there was a greater possiblity that he would not see her again until yet another extended amount of time. One could never truly tell.
"Forgive my rash behavior, milady." He quickly turned and called out to the darker-haired female, a small bow of his head, as he hoped she would not simply continue to walk away, leaving him to speak to the floor. "I can assure you I am certainly not trying to rid myself of your presence. Should we be anywhere outside of the Grove, I would surely guide you back soundly without question or objection--and with my life. But, seeing as we are in our own territory, I believe a fine woman as yourself does not need to be treated as a defenseless being." If he wasn't spewing out an ocean of words by now, it certainly felt like it.
"As for your wardrobe, ma'am," He raised his head slightly with a graciously light simper, short locks of silver hair shifting gently with the motion. "I am quite honored to be able to witness it, but as you have said before, I cannot say the others of the Court will agree."

Titania turned around and watched, arms crossed, as her young court member explained himself. Granted, it as unnecessary as the queen already explained to herself why he said what he said, and at this point was just messing with him.
When he finished, Titania gave herself a good laugh and patted him on his shoulder. "Relax, I was merely joking. Your behavior is appropriate, but I am honored that you would defend me, though as you may or may not know, I am quite capable of defending myself, even outside our territory. And besides, I don't give a damn if the court is upset by the way I dress or carry myself. I like this outfit, and that's what matters. Besides, plenty of guys like it too." Well it was true. He had already admitted to it.
The fairy queen, with this talk, let out a long, contented sigh. She thought about taking him with her, but not a member of the court. Too scandalous, at least for now. She would head back alone.
"Well, if you excuse me, I must head back to my chambers. You are clearly busy, but it was an honor to meet you, young court member." Titania began to walk off again, but had forgotten one thing. She turned back around, getting a mouthful of hair. Not the most attractive of moments, but it happens. "You know, I don't remember getting your name."

[atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,5px,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400,true] Hwauh. Was he that easy to tease? Vittorio silently questioned this in his mind, as he gave a nervous smile. Perhaps he wasn't really easy to tease, per se, but rather, more of a pushover. Give him something to do, he'll more than likely do it. Ask him to explain something, then a similar result ensues. He was not entirely sure whether that was a strength or a weakness.
"Oh, um, yes, of course you were!" He strangely felt the need to confirm the fact, maybe to try and prove he was aware of the joke, or maybe just to reconcile himself in some way.
He blinked slowly, watching his leader release a sigh. There might have been a worrisome notion that perhaps he had been boring the Queen with his silly antics, but the mood seemed to tell him that that was not the reason for her sigh. Then again, he only just met the Queen. It wasn't like he could read her emotions so early on.
So the conversation returned back to the dismissal, and the lieutenant gave a polite nod in acknowledgement. "The same to you, milady," He replied, also about to turn once Titania had, only to freeze in his tracks at the vital piece of information he had forgotten.
Vittorio could not possibly explain the frenetic sound he had made just then, which seemed to be some mix between a yelp and horrified gasp, complete with a tiny kind of "eiyao!?" With the Queen turning on her heels, the fairy quickly bowed his head again apologetically. "Forgive me for forgetting to introduce myself!" He lifted his head, straightening himself as he placed hand over heart.
"Vittorio Rainero, at your service." The softened smile returned with a laugh. "And I am now well aware of who you are, Majesty."

Oh man, this man was going to be a fun one to have around. Sometimes being the queen has its perks, and this was clearly one of those times. Perhaps the young men in the court were like this. If this were the case, perhaps the meetings wouldn't be so horrible to attend.
"You are immediately forgiven, Vittorio Rainero. However, do not think you are well aware of who I am. You cannot even imagine. Maybe one day, Vittorio Rainero." She quickly turned on her heels, but not before winking at the young man. Keep him on his toes. After all, he might be the best-looking one in the entire palace. Besides herself of course. She then walked away, back to her chambers. This was fun, but had to come to an end.

[atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,5px,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,400,true]His silver gaze watched carefully as he witnessed the woman graciously take her leave--her actual leave. "I suppose I'm pretty ignorant, heh." The man murmured to himself after her departure, scratching the back of his head as he chuckled at the memory of the brief wink. In his present state, that was undeniably true. But he still had time, as did the Queen. Thus, he would devote whatever time he had left into becoming a competent man who could be relied upon in the Court, and by his leader. Turning himself to face the opposite direction, Vittorio began to walk his original path, to his destination. Despite knowing the workload in store for him, as he stared at the oapers neatly gathered in his hands, he pulled yet another soft, if whimsical smile. "Perhaps one day indeed."[ exeunt ] |
